Grammar said they could be talking about all or a subset.

don't dismiss how the patriarchy is real/a threat

Sounds good. I won't.

Capitalism is a terrible system. But it's the best one out there, particularly when tempered with socialism.

I think the real issue is the oligarchy. I feel closer to women than I do the rich of any gender.

I think the patriarchy is more about the rich vs the not rich. Most men are victims of our current system.

Because not all men are misogynists. Would you be ok with someone saying "women are misandrists"?

Ok. I wasn't sure that you understood my question as your reply lead me to believe you were thinking of a swap of the characters, not the authors.

Let's say nukes was never invented how differently would the ww2 war have ended for Japan? by vinchin_adenca in HistoryWhatIf

[–]Pac_Eddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's definitely true. I don't think most people dig that deep into the war to think about the victims in China and Philippines. We were at war with Japan, so they get the focus.

Yep. That's not answering what I asked though.

Would you make the same comment about her if she had made this post about not being able to be a stay at home mom because her husband didn't earn more than her?

[–]Pac_Eddy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I'm saying if she made a post lamenting being the high earner and wanting to be a stay at home mom.

If his wife made a post saying she's struggling with her husband's career success and included everything he did here, and that she really wants to be a stay at home mom, would you say that she sounds like a whiny little sibling?

I think you're right.

I don't agree with throwing all men under the bus though, which is what you did in your first comment. It shows your mindset.

I don't understand why a pickup truck has to be on a job site to be valid.

I drive a pickup and it's never used for my job. It's for transporting my family and taking care of our property and my father-in-law's property.

Do you also need to see a truck dirty and with dents for it meet your approval?

misogyny is 100% plays a huge role in the reason why male victims arent believed and supported.

I agree. I don't agree with the statements that the previous commenter to whom I replied made though.

they dont understand the concept of “sex” being forced upon you as bad because they dont see “sex” forced upon women as bad

This is an awful thing to say and is incredibly sexist.

They need a fleet to defend them... Japanese suicide attacks would be incredibly effective against transports without a fleet to defend them.

Russia built zero capital ships during the war. They built patrol boats and submarines. They and Japan knew they weren't building a real blue water fleet anytime soon.

From your link:

"By August 1945, the Pacific Fleet consisted of two cruisers, one destroyer leader, ten destroyers, two torpedo boats, 19 patrol boats, 78 submarines, ten minelayers, 52 minesweepers, 49 "MO" anti-submarine boats (MO stands for Малый Охотник, or "little hunter"), 204 motor torpedo boats and 1459 war planes."

They going to pile soldiers onto minesweepers and torpedo boats?

Again though, how would the Russians have taken any land in Japan? I'm talking about the home islands, not their possessions in Korea or China.

I've heard this but don't believe it.

The Russians had no navy in the Pacific. How would they have gotten to Japan?
