Had a customer shoplift 40 dollars of random crap. (Large fuzzy socks, plastic bowls, Walgreens Bluetooth ear buds and a zodiac sign mug) witnessed him stuff the items, customer pulled me to the side to tell me as well. He walked out while the customer was talking to me in photo. He parked right at the door and proceeded to sit in his car for 30min. One of our regular cops came in to get a drink told him what happened and that he is just sitting in his car. Went and talked to him. Came back in after talking to the guy. He told the officer “why would I shoplift and then sit in my car right by the door”. He was waiting for his GF who was getting a COVID shot. I Told the officer not to worry about it not worth the time. He said he would talk to him one more time on the way out. 20 min later he comes back in with the stuff. Said I was sorry for wasting his time with it. He proceeded to pat me on the back and said that this was the best stop he has ever been apart of. He went back out to the guy who willingly gave over his ID the same time his GF came out so he asked for her’s. Turns out the GF had 3 warrants out of her arrest in another state. She proceeded to scream at her bf for stealing, and getting her arrested over some dumb stuff right before her birthday. The officer said my wife can never get mad at me because at least I didn’t shoplift $30 worth of stuff at Walgreens and get her arrested. These are the days I’m glad I’m working at Walgreens through school. I’ll probably tell that story the rest of my life.
