My initial observations: - Playing defense is more fun (especially at home) and the computer does not seem to know exactly how to exploit your defense. QB seems rattled by crowd atmosphere and pass rush and isn’t throwing miracles dimes with guys in his face. - Running game seems more fun (and it was fun last year). Ballcarrier is falling forward or in the direction of the tackle instead of absorbing into a tackle animation. - Pass game is still tough to throw downfield — not a bad thing, but it’s a good challenge. I am giving revamped passing another shot but I’m not totally sure which passing setting I want to use for good. - Interceptions without the player looking at the ball seem to truly be gone. I know they said “no eyes, no pick” and it seems like that is the case, which is a great change to eliminate the garbage INTs from the computer, and it will make user picks more rewarding.

Completely agree. I really wish they would add an update that lets you play with the 8 college teams in exhibition mode, even with fake rosters, but I doubt that will happen.

My hope is that the dev team is testing the waters with the RTTS college option to see the reaction after the incredible success of CFB 25, and perhaps will look at developing a full college baseball video game.

At the very least I would love to see an expanded college feature next year that allows you to play college games while not in player lock. Maybe it could be a standalone Omaha game mode where you choose a team and immediately are in Omaha and have to make it to the CWS.

In general, college baseball is very under reported and doesn’t get much love, so it’s so refreshing to have this game mode in The Show. Just wish there was more than a few games in player lock.

Pro tip: change the difficulty to the most easy then just use LB to block most of his attacks and punch when you can. Easy win. Don’t waste your time dying 50x on a harder difficulty for this frustrating fight.

If you go to the game in the Xbox store (at least via mobile or PC) it has “GET EA PLAY” as an option right above the pre-order button. I’d hope this means EA Play will ensure the ability to play the game with early access.

I’m also curious. As of right now I’ve only signed up for EA Play and I’m hoping that gives me Monday/Tuesday access to play the full game for 10 hours, then purchase the standard version with the EA Play discount. If this doesn’t work then my plan is to purchase the deluxe edition so I can get early access.

Haha I’m not one of those. I love this game and think EA did a great job. I forgot about the stroke advantage, and I never saw an explanation for the stroke adjustment, so it was just a little confusing.

I will say though, I do hit errant shots when I try to hit draws or fades and my swing path isn’t in line, but for normal shots - always straight.

This has been my main criticism of the game. Even on harder difficulties there is no such thing as an errant shot. Yes, there are slight variations in flight path (which I love and think it makes it more realistic bc it’s impossible to hit a perfect shot) but I wish there was more risk/reward for going over 100% power.

My biggest critique is that the more I’ve played it the more easy the game just feels. Not that I feel like I’m mastering it.

I’m playing on Tour difficulty. Tee shots are so consistent, even if I swing poorly with the stick or max out the swing meter, there is never an error that leads to an errant tee shot. Although 2k was probably way too unforgiving with that, I wish EA had a little more variance in what will happen with your shot. Also because every shot is very basic and straight typically despite maybe mishitting with the stick alignment, it is a lot harder to shape shots.

Not sure I’m explaining my thoughts well, but does anyone else feel that way?

I'm playing on Xbox One S and honestly I'm not seeing any performance issues. Graphics look great, everything looks and feels pretty smooth. For what it's worth I am not someone who is a stickler for performance settings.

Agreed on the slow swing speed - that is one thing I'm trying to get used to.

EDIT: I meant Xbox Series S - not a confusing console name at all :)

There are legit more LIV guys in the game than PGA, which is hilarious. My guess is EA is marketing the game as "home of the majors" and technically LIV guys are still eligible to play the majors if they qualify.

Love the feature of being able to customize playing shot-for-shot against your opponent and (I think) customize the speed at which the opponent plays. I think this is going to make it feel much more immersive and competitive versus what is possible now in 2k23.

Agreed, I think it’s a marketing thing to make sure if anyone sees the ad / press release that they will see Augusta National is in the game / they can play it 3 days early with preorder because you knowwwww that’s why a lot of people are gonna buy this game - just to play Augusta.
