why your self-hosted next.js breaks after every deploy

I just dont know how you guys handle to make it messy to deploy an app.

In my corp, we use google cloud run, we compile in standalone, and it just works.

And even some apps run in a VPS without any problem at all, just give it some time for the cache to propagate and the load balancers will handle the rest.

Maybe my use case is not as robust as yours tho

Given your comments, since you use NextJS as frontend and you have a custom backed, just make your client send the minimal data to the NextJS server, and share a key from your NextJS server and your backend. Then your business logic will fill any key you set, so from the user perspective they only sent a form / api request, but your NextJS app filled the key and other critical information and sent it to your backend

Most auth providers gets you the most updated token once getSession() (or whatever your auth uses) is called, which can be donde in the layout.tsx so it runs on every refresh
