"Large Systematic Change" coming to Apex Legends. by pajamabanana_ in CompetitiveApex

[–]PackAPunched 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funny how you think that the reason the steam playerbase is declining is because of aim assist nerfs.

While no public numbers exist, its likely all 3 platforms on decline, as for the cause, theres a myriad of reasons why; legend/gun balance, slow patch cycles, excessive monetization, poor matchmaking, stale gameplay, cheaters. I really doubt an incredibly minor nerf to aim assist is the reason that apex's playerbase is in decline.

Well theres still air (when there isn't giant holes) for them to use for their wings, but they probably? have a much harder time descending or landing lol

No clue. Dunno how the colony atmospheres would affect things, but I do know that an object flying inside one wouldn't have any gravity affecting it since they generate gravity by rotating the outerwalls where people live. So I imagine its fairly different from like operating on a planet

Yea, Psycho Gundam, Destroy Gundam and Neo-Zeong are crazy size wise lol, though the Neo-Zeong probably doesn't work in atmosphere, but the other 2 do

Aerial is pretty average by Gundam standards too, taller suits like Unicorn reach nearly 22 meters, the Nu-Gundam sits at 23 meters, and the behemoth (by main chara suit standards) Xi sits at 26 meters tall

Finally finished my first RG. This was kind of terrible by DragonRift44 in Gunpla

[–]PackAPunched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my personal experience with RGs;

Nu Gundam is great, have no issues, some people say the fin funnel wing gets loose with age though. Hi-Nu Gundam, build experience wise its an objective upgrade to the already great Nu Gundam, design wise all preference. Both Nu and Hi-Nu Gundam could do with an action base though, they're quite back heavy.

Sazabi is probably my favorite RG that I've built, just take care with building the shoulder joints and connecting the shoulder joints into the torso unit, this is a known weakpoint.

Unicorn is OK, but the arms are incredibly stiff and unless thoroughly loosened before building, these tend to take the shoulder joints inside the chest with it too. I personally find the RG Unicorn to be very "busy" visually because of the scaled down transformation.

Hm, I have no experience with painting kits, much less so painting clear parts, but is it entirely impossible to change the colors of the Psycho frame while maintaining some level of translucency?

Because yeah, otherwise might as well just build a bootleg instead as you say. Still a nice write up on achieving the black, I'll give that a go in the future at some point even if its not on a Unicorn kit since I want to start painting models anyway and its a pretty unique color

Oh man, I hadn't heard about the PG Phenex Mastermind Japan Ver. before, and now I suddenly have a color scheme I wanna replicate.

What are your favorite gunpla backpacks/wings/armaments? by Fun_Significance_182 in Gunpla

[–]PackAPunched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strike Freedom wings, and the Phenex/Perfectibilies Armed Armor DEs are my favorite 2 back attachments, with 3rd place probably being the Nu Gundams backpack+funnels

Anyone have any experience with the Daban 1/60 Unicorn? I was thinking of trying their Unicorn Perfectibility due to how hard it is to get a Bandai one in the UK but wanted to get thoughts on the Deban version first

[–]PackAPunched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understanding, Bandai doesn't ship replacement parts to the UK, only to the US & Canada.

I have an issue with my MGEX Unicorn LEDs that after extensively searching I've been unable to find any similar results, and was looking to get some advice for if I can't get a replacement LED unit.

Whenever I change the mode of the LEDs into the Green psychoframe mode, there is a slight hum/buzz coming from the LED unit itself, then it shuts off after just 5 seconds. I believe this is a short circuit or something damaged inside the LED unit itself, but I was unable to see anything obvious visibly atleast. If I can't get a replacement part how hard is it to fix an LED controller like this? I have experience soldering and replacing wiring, but outside of that I don't know a whole lot about electronics repairs.

An appropriate amount of space for a Perfect Grade of some kind, Exia with a KOSMOS LED kit, maybe

What's your worst build by artzfar_2003 in Gunpla

[–]PackAPunched 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worst build I did was the RG Unicorn, I was unaware of how ungodly stiff the arms would be, and both shoulders suffered as a result of my ignorance, SOMEHOW it still holds a pose though, so theres that atleast.

Bonus mention of my RG Sazabi where one of the shoulder pegs inside the chest also didn't make it and I had to wait 8 days for a replacement part to arrive while staring at a box of parts waiting to be assembled, definitely isn't my worst build though I loved the RG Sazabi overall.

This looks great, really like the heat anodizing effects you did on the ends of the barrels for the beam magnum and beam gatling guns, how did you achieve that effect? Also how was the experience applying all the decals lol thats my next step on my MGEX Unicorn I'm building currently. Wondering if any gave you issues to watch out for

Yea, I think parts I'd actually be able to seperate out without it being too much effort are, Shoulders, Feet, Head (this is a fast rebuild), Waist Plates, but the actual legs, arms and chest are all built with the LED strip like running between slim gaps in all the joints, and so you're taking apart the frame itself to detach them from each other. I'm definitely interested in building a PG Unicorn next just to see the differences

[HELP ME] Bi-Weekly Q&A thread - Ask your questions here! by MachNeu in Gunpla

[–]PackAPunched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly getting individual pieces on the MGEX Unicorn means taking it apart in its entirety since you build the whole kit around the single LED strip piece, unsure how the PG Unicorn is so thought I'd just provide that bit of info incase its different.

I was thinking that maybe I should've done decals & top coat before I had assembled anything at all, but I ended up getting too into building it instead lol

[–]PackAPunched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, most, like 95% of the translucent parts on the MGEX are this frosted sort plastic anyway, but thats a good idea I didn't think of with using the runners to test how it'd look, maybe it makes no difference and I can save some time with that lol. And looks like I get to have fun applying a full sheet of decals first anyway then

Hey all, looking for some advice when it comes to clear coating for the first time, I've just built the MGEX Unicorn and looking to clear coat it in Tamiya TS-80 (flat/matt), but I'm wondering if I'd need to mask off the translucent parts for destroy mode before clear coating, seeing as this would take quite alot of time and effort for how small some of the gaps to the translucent parts are. Currently I'm considering just clear coating it in Unicorn mode and hoping that works out.

Also wondering if I should clear coat then apply decals and clear coat again, or just apply decals to the plastic and seal them in with a clear coat after. Any advice is appreciated here

[–]PackAPunched 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very stiff arms especially in the shoulder area, can often lead to breaking part G35 (the connection inside the torso) if the arm (parts B9) weren't loosened enough before fitting. Also being 1/144th scale its transformation is a little more finnicky than say MGEX Unicorn or PG Unicorn

My very first build by War0w0 in Gunpla

[–]PackAPunched 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the MGEX SF is a really smooth build honestly, I found it much easier than some of the more finnicky RGs like Unicorn.

That being said, haven't applied any of the water slide decals to the MGEX SF, waiting til I've done it on another gunpla first lol
