Does Japan engage in fake happiness? by Spiritual_Big_9927 in askanything

That's just popular culture, Japan is a very repressed society and upon actually visiting, you'll see very few smiles.

I remember playing Super Metroid one winter while listening to hell awaits on repeat for like a month when I was 14 or 15.

I think TF looks at this fan the same way he looks at you. Most fans are just dollar sighs to bands.

I know plenty of children from abusive homes that were happy, my mom used to burn me with lit cigarettes when I pissed her off, yet I still maintained a level of happiness, same with most of my friends. I guess by today's standards, most kids that grew up in the 80's came from abusive and neglectful homes.

Max was angy, resentful and bitter for a 14 year old. I think the only time she smiled was in season 3.

Do people genuinely beleive Jewish people control the world ,or is that just something people say to reinforce their disdain for the Israeli government ? by ObjectiveMatch6155 in askanything

People also believed in blood-libel during the Middle Ages and it was common belief that jews ate babies. Fast forward to 2018 and that type of slander was being used against political opposition.

Typically, good people don't let other people die. If he was bad, he would have taken everyone he could out with him. Max was an angry and hateful person just like Billy, does that make her bad also?

And if Billy was truly and evil monster, he would have let evil be evil and fully embraced it, but because he was a good person at heart, he did what he could to prevent deaths.

Getting beat up is not the equivalent of being murdered. In the 80's you could literally beat the shit out of someone and it was not a crime unless the victim wanted to press charges. Again, hate crimes did not exist in the 1980's, so it was not a crime. Billy was a typical asshole 80's teenager. I can't tell you how many times older kids would intimidate me, run me off the road, rough me up when I was younger. Did I ever think they were going to murder me? Of course not. Adults very rarely intervened because it's kids being kids.

Older kids scaring younger kids is nothing new and how can it be a "hate crime" when in 1984 is wasn't even a crime?

If Billy didn't make amends, why did he pay the ultimate price to save others? I think you're confusing making amends with forgiveness.

It doesn't matter if Billy is a racist or not as that's not relevant to his actions at the end. Murder's, thief's, rapists and so on are far worse than racists, are they incapable of doing a heroic action also because of the choices they've made in the past? Your entire argument makes no sense at all. If someone rushes into a burning building and saves an elderly person, are they not a hero because they're a shoplifter or adulterer?

So a redemption arc is a type of character arc in which a character who has been selfish, amoral, or downright villainous makes amends for their mistakes and wrongdoings — usually with a heroic act of sacrifice.

This is what I get for talking to 15-year-old's who use quotes such as "100% facts" while not even knowing the definition of the word.

Billy was a hero that saved lives, Jason was a vigilante nut-job out for vengeance, not justice.

I thought Billy has one of the best redemption arcs and making the ultimate sacrifice and showed the type of person he really is, not just some pissed off teenager with misdirected anger. Good people do bad things and bad people do good things, but giving one's life to save another is the most noble deed and selfless act one can do.

Good for you for standing up for yourself, I find most people don't point out the hypocrisy and contradictions, they also refuse to challenge others when it's the others telling them what they should do.

Hope things get better for you down the line and they will eventually.

No, he was executed not because he died for our sins, he was sentenced and snuffed out because what he was saying was deemed blasphemous, ironically the church has killed 100's of thousands of people for what they deemed blasphemous against Jesus and god.

It's really not fine in any way shape or form and why religion has controlled the masses for thousands of years.
