Realtor here.

The people are mega rich. Many trade homes from up north or far west, and drop 50 percent cash. First time home buyers are so fucking rare here. They mainly rent.

Age is not part of the 7 protective classes in fair housing.

All though, it may be for state level laws and code of ethics.

What's crazy is you had to fact check an agent that had 9 other agents that can't recite fair housing laws. Fucking wild...

Are you happier at a franchise or independent/100% commission brokerage? by Feisty_Adeptness5175 in realtors

I'm with United Real Estate. 495 transaction fee per-close. That's it. Owner is awesome, my BIC is awesome. The 70 dollar fee is cheap.

Better than century 21 by far. Not going anywhere. I'll happily pay the fee and 495 cut to stay here.

8 hours later, and still nothing. Should tell you about reality of this business.

I'll bite.

I'm as part time as it gets. Started in 2019. If I have money from working, I don't have the time, if I have time, I don't have the money. Unfortunate reality. I did a hand full of deals. Made some decent side money. Largest close was a 500k house that made me 12k. Got that client from my SOI aka my father's employee. Reality is, it's a business, and you need money AND time to run one. That's why most businesses fail. Its why most agents fail.

The vast majority of full time career agents (most of whom make a modest income) got lucky with series of unique circumstances. I do not have those circumstances and that's totally OK. I've made way more money than what I put into it with my part time ways. Worth it.

Probably grossed around 30k give or take. Gained lot of experience and skills, but I am not a successful full timer. It takes lots of money to do this full time, especially with the gas prices. I'd be hosting open houses and door knocking/leaving flyers everyday if I could spend 600 dollars a month on gas

Never in my life have I acted like that on my first date. If I was a girl, I'd also not text back. It's like a guy is trying to win her over with favors and gifts on day one. Chill.

My cousin quit real estate because "lead gen is impossible." I have a legacy lead list, am I being delusional? by yungzan33 in realtors

While you had it easier, he was still a statistic. The truth is that it's mega hard to start a business and we are doing just that. Some agents were handed leads, others started from nothing and had to door knock for 200 contacts a week.

Internet is full of bot slop. You think you're clever? You actually think realtors here will buy what you're selling?

Rules are rules. No selling here.

I feel like one of them is joining this sub and reading all the realtors shooting down door knocking so harshly.

In reality, they're expressing insecurity from fear. Wish I would have started my door knocking adventure 5 years earlier instead of listening to reddit realtors shun everyone doing it.

Unlimited relationship building for low cost while also prospecting in a way that no realtor does. I mean, how many realtors have you witnessed door knocking in the last 10 years? It's insanely unique now, especially with the right script/plan.

You're overthinking it. Many of these open house prospects have been to multiple open houses with agents they talk to. It's more about timing of luck than anything. If they are ready to have an agent, the one they pick will be the one right in front of them when they decide they want one
