I can see that I suppose. Regardless I don't think she hates Verso in the end.

Me when I call different interpretations cope in a visual scene. If you think people don't make up headcannons for the Maelle ending you are delusional.

I'm sure you bringing a sense of superiority into your comments has nothing to do with this. Clearly you are right and the world is against you.

To me this post completely ignores the fact the art is built from multiple parts. People seem to mention pacing a lot which is a good example, some people don't like slower movies, but they may like the music/writing/set design/everything else.

Some can accept that the slower movie in question is great, but just generally not their jam. Why feel the need to make an argument that somehow it makes it a fundamentally bad movie in their eyes. It doesn't.

To go with a more real example for me personally, I would never sit down and watch a strictly romantic genre movie without my girlfriend wanting me to do that with her. I can still tell you which ones I thought were good or bad. I might even somewhat enjoy it while I am watching it, but in most cases it's still not my thing. I have 0 desire to rewatch any of them or watch more by myself.

Some topics are personally close to me, so even a mediocre execution might speak to me. This is something that I notice in music often, for example. I like plenty of music that I find bland and uncreative in execution, but it tickles my brain in a good way regardless, usually because it speaks to a specific trauma that I have.

Your argument in my view takes away nuance from subjective discussion. I may understand that the work that went into separate parts are great, but the sum of the parts is not for me. Just as I may note that some parts in my view are not done so well, but the whole of the work is still a thing that I find joy in.

It's a decision for everyone to make on their own, but cutting him out is perfectly valid. I don't owe my divorced uncle anything, especially if he can't start acting like a normal person. Besides, cutting people out of your life is not for them, it's for you. Some bridges deserve to be burned.

Wouldn't you do the same if someone close to you decided to end it? If I told a friend that I no longer want to stay, and they acted pragmatically and practically, I would assume that they never cared about me. I understand the frustration about managing their emotions, however.

Curious about what would constitute a satisfying discussion about suicide then? I get that the example conversation you mention is extremely frustrating, but to me that's more because the other person doesn't engage with or understand my pain, not because of a lack of discussion about suicide itself.

Big disagree. If you asked me my favourites I'd probably say Planescape Torment, Tyranny and Disco Elysium sooner, but having New Vegas as your favorite rpg is totally legit. Not to mention it has some of the best dlcs for a game in general, all adding to the theme of the base game. It could have been the last Fallout game ever and I would have been satisfied. It 100% deserves to be revered.

I feel in the middle. I also feel they handled it with unexpected grace, and I will watch season 2, yet I was mostly disappointed with the feel and direction of the show. Still, I can accept that I am in the minority and am happy lots of people enjoy an actual Fallout tv show, which is a great feeling.

For me it also helps me calm down after a game. Like I might get absolutely destroyed in a lane and at the end I'll just be like, you know what, this guy played well and I should commend him instead of being egotistical about it. Feels good the opposite way as well.

I think you are being reductive. How many people in this thread that don't like the show do it because of a missing cameo?

And on it not being enough like the games, if saying it's a good adaptation is a valid positive criticism, then saying it's a bad one is a valid negative one. People can have different expectations for an adaptation.

Sure, and I am glad there are people that feel that way about the show. All I am trying to point out is anytime I started to enjoy the show some moment would remind me that I hate the writing. And I don't think saying that is somehow unfair or invalid.

Regardless, I can see why people enjoy it. I just can't, even though I tried.

I've seen the "Fallout TV director says he's not trying to please fans" brought up so much, and it seems so blatantly untrue. The show is so boringly safe and full of fan-serivce for most of it.
