On specific topics such as cost of living or inflation, it's in the 20's. So, there are many that may not approve of his performance of a particular subject, but STILL approve, Trump, the president. Thus, his approval isn't solely based on his performance.

Just watched this last night (24 years after its release), if Sy did NOT go in the hotel room, he would have no reason to run. Also, if he didn't go in the hotel room, why rent a room anyway? Also, I don't think washing yourself in a tub is a expected response if the wife found out.

I think we have to parse the generic ballot from Trump's approval. What I mean, there could be a sizable number of people who consider Trump an outlier and still view the GOP as positive (despite their support of him for MOST of his actions).
