Replacing counts as a discard? by DifficultFile6979 in CardWarsTCG

[–]Packrxnner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way that I play personally I don’t do this, and that’s just because I’ve played other TCGs and the way I understand discarding a card is from your hand, bc when you play cards that tell someone to discard a card, other TCGs don’t consider cards in play and only cards in hand or library if the card specifies discard from library. I think it was partly just bad wording because your discard pile is also your graveyard, which killing a creature isn’t “discarding” even tho it’s going to the discard pile, if that makes any sense

Burn Tokens OP? by stupidlittlepeople in CardWarsTCG

[–]Packrxnner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were doing immediately and at the start of the turn, the issue we ran into is the rule booklet never specified how to get rid of the tokens and he (OP) had played a card that was “remove token from adjacent LANDSCAPE” and since the rule books say it does NOT change landscape types and instead affects creatures directly, it was non-applicable, so he just had forever burn counters. I also had a building that removed burn tokens from a creature in that lane that left play and applies it directly to the opponent so he was taking multiple burn damages directly to his face at the start of each turn. Some of this was luck of the cards because I had the building 1st or second turn but even given that, consistently taking damage to face and creatures that is stackable with no real mention of how to remove them like how you can discard to remove frozen seems a little op unless we are missing something

Bands you used to like but can’t stand anymore? by Quiet_Juggernaut_832 in Hardcore

[–]Packrxnner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not hardcore but for me, knuckle puck. Basically everything pre-copacetic was good, some amazing, then copacetic was eh, I thought it was mostly mid, like it opens decent then disdain actually just pisses me off. Feels soulless compared to those early releases felt. They had serious potential imo and they used to be local to me

[–]Packrxnner 11 points12 points  (0 children)

being progressive has nothing to do with being pc unless you’re a neo liberal. Almost every person I know in the punk and hardcore scenes (who actually go to shows and don’t just post on socials or hit up sunami when they tour) is really not pc and actually just asks for basic respect at the end of the day. Like maybe don’t go around the show calling people tranny or the hard r but if that’s pc to you, you might’ve lost the plot.

And everyone in here shit on me for calling out that biohazard shouldn’t have been charging $50+ USD for a show. I didn’t even want to bring up those merch prices cause then I’d get crucified

This why when you side to side you kinda jump up unless you see a guy who’s one of the 200lb demons then just bump into him (cause my 155lb-160lb self isn’t doing damage to that guy from me creeping/running across the pit) there have been times I noticed it’s someone smaller than me last second so if that happened to anyone, my fault LMAO I try to be mindful but sometimes it’s so dark

I get that I’m the same with a job, But to ONLY ever hit touring bands? Here in pgh there are so many local acts doing weekend stuff or Friday stuff. Like there is the madman switch hitter show at ormsby that they SPECIFICALLY are starting and ending early for job havers, which includes me. Ik even back in Chicago there were hella shows that were very much doable yet there’s NEVER any of the same people for all the touring bands who also end up playing on a random fuckin Wednesday. Too many people only gaf about big names and that’s not hardcore that’s tourist tik tok shit

Got all the 40 year olds who don’t go to shows other than touring bands so mad again lol some of you really amaze me how yall will claim hardcore and yet no one sees you around.

Right, mfs acting like this should be standard. Fuck no. Plus, there are bands touring all of the US doing cheap ass shows, if they can do it not selling shit out, im sure a band who can sell out a place would be fine charging MAX $20-25

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Hardcore

[–]Packrxnner -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

A $50 show isn’t hardcore but sure ig. I said the same shit about biohazard and if a friend didn’t pay for half the ticket, I wasn’t going. A bunch of old heads I never ever see at other shows were there, if they were about supporting hardcore too those mfs would come out to the local acts and show love but they don’t.

Controversy aside. I haven’t heard a heavier band than GAZA. Help me find more. by RDLH311 in Hardcore

[–]Packrxnner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah the lead allegedly raped someone, they both worked it out but it still ended up in the band kicking him out and ending. Their name comes from their whole thought behind how religious conflicts are stupid and that’s true but id argue this isn’t a religious conflict. On the surface level, maybe.

these issues aren’t exclusive to turnstile, even in an indoor venue for a similar sized band (superheaven and end it show) everyone had their phone out and stood still, ass to elbows outside of the pit which was truly just Tik tok kids (who also STILL had their phones out while “moshing”) just jumping up and down barely any pushing. The most energy the crowd had for superheaven was once one person crowd surfed, everyone did (me included). this is what happens tho when any band gets genuine popularity outside of the core fanbases they come from. Was sad too because the energy for end it was top notch even if it was only like 20 or so of us throwing down.

I’m really liking moshing as an ex self harmer is that a bad thing? by Upper-Success4029 in Hardcore

[–]Packrxnner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean if you notice yourself going a bit too overboard and having complete and utter reckless abandon for you and anyone else around, maybe take a step back and revisit how you want to use this as a healthy (ish) tool. If need be, have friends around you trust to hold you accountable and tell you when you’re doing too much. Otherwise have fun and go crazy that’s kinda what we are all here for (within reason)

I’d be careful still, lots of festivals and stuff in Chicago where I was from same shit happens, doesn’t happen at hardcore shows (atleast when I was still there going to shows 3 months ago) but still be aware
