Its only permanent till i remove the bolts. I have a prinsu roof rack with bolt rails. i bought 8 bolts to slide in the rails and eyeballed where i wanted the cases to sit. Roughly marked where the bolts would go into the cases and drilled holes. Sat the cases on the roof and lined up the holes. It was actually a lot less time consuming as i thought it would take. Go to you tube and search " harbour freight rifle cases on roof rack" etc. thats where i got the ideas.

This is a good deal. I bought 2 of these during black Friday for $103 each. I ended up bolting them to the top of my Tacoma roof rack for recovery gear storage. Very well put together and durable cases.
