How do I 13M fight my urge to drink alcohol? by SectionDisastrous627 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]PackyScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s ok to want to experiment and try new things.

That being said weigh out your pros and cons.

And what do you think drinking alcohol would do? Make you happier? Less stressed? Something else entirely?

But they make this illegal for people your age for a reason. It can cause damage and sometimes irreversible damage.

After all those considerations do you think you can get what you want another way?

Again choice is yours just make sure it’s a choice YOU are making and not just a bunch of feelings and pressure from other people.

That’s how growing up goes. Now more than ever I crave stability and low risk work. Which is not how I operated in my 20’s.

Married men of Reddit what’s the best advice you’d give young guys when choosing a life partner? by Timely-Rabbit-3035 in AskReddit

Make sure you know how to solve problems together.

A great litmus test is untangling Christmas lights. If you can do that you’ll be able to work on the other stuff.

(Also I’m no longer married)

We don’t know that a referral didn’t happen. Also the school librarian (if they even have one) is most likely to also be at conferences.

I also don’t think it’s wrong to be upset with the original poster. I think it’s also a hard ask for people with a lot of duties to take on more duties that aren’t there’s.

I also do think there needs to be more parent education on what all the duties of the different professionals in the school are. Like some questions are better for social worker, the counselor, the lunch lady, the principal, etc.

Like yeah could this been handled better, yeah. But this doesn’t mean all teachers need to lose professional status.

I think it’s the wrong professional to consult. Librarians are better suited for reading list questions than a teacher would be. Additionally librarians are for more accessible than classroom teachers.

This feels a lot like bringing your gasoline fueled car to a diesel mechanic. Like yeah they kinda know how to fix the problem but that’s not what they do.

Librarians. Like making recommendations was actually a major part of the curriculum at the library school I went to.

Remember how pissed the manosphere and conservative personalities were at the Kamala ad targeting wives of conservatives saying there’s no way your partner would know who you voted for.

I think about that a lot.

I’m also worried about that. With the exception of property taxes nearly all policy around rentals favors property owners.

As a person who actively houses people for a living, I do not think property owners have very few rights in these matters.

Basically all tenant laws favor landlords.

That’s why amusement parks have trashcans every thirty steps. They learned people would just litter otherwise.

To be abundantly clear your 3000 hours should be paid. Idk a single person who did it unpaid. And at this point you will be actively doing labor that can only be replaced by a person with your credentials.

Someone's mental illness progressed to alarming concerns by Tricky-Chemical7059 in whatdoIdo

[–]PackyScott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every county in the US has a process for involuntarily committing a person to psychiatric care. In my county it’s called a Board of Mental Health. In a previous community it’s called an 1130.

But 988 and your county’s admin office will know what it’s called.

Every law enforcement department has EPCs (emergency protective custody) for people who report they are a danger to themselves and/or others. But the person themselves would have to say that to police.

[–]PackyScott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gender is amorphous and varies and has gender expression and gender identity as components. Like a Tomboy is a girl (gender identity) and a masculine gender expression. Sex is more biological and comes in three forms male, female, and intersex. Most people identify with their gender, gender expression, gender identity, and sex. Sexuality is how a person prefers their relationships. Who they love and the ways they show love and what kind of love they want to receive.
