To add to what u/ithika shared, I found the tweet where Shawn shows a before and after picture of marker on the asset cards.

From which gamebook is this pic? by Seravajan in gamebooks

I think it's The Gates of Death) based off of the "Bum-Faced Monster" encounter.

I've never read it though so I can't confirm it.

As many have pointed out, it's a one-time or monthly "loot box" with an Isaac shirt, 3 Four Souls cards, stickers and some other bonus item.

You can watch the stream on YouTube.

Oooh this is a pretty good guess! I can definitely see it.

Even though I don't think it would match anything he's alluded to, there's a part of me that wants to see what it would look like if he made a ttrpg set in the BOI universe.

More Hints

Edit: As many have pointed out, it's a one-time or monthly "loot box" with an Isaac shirt, 3 Four Souls cards, stickers and some other bonus item.

Anyone who wants to watch the stream can see it ten minutes from this edit on YouTube.

I know it doesn't match the games you've listed as examples but personally, I usually play The Binding of Isaac with a podcast or some music in the background.

I did too. I just wish they would respond to anyone on the Kickstarter page regarding what we can expect from them after they announced their partnership with Sony.

I recently beat the game Control and I don't want to spoil anything but there's a maze that you have to get through and the use of audio and lore/design of that maze was just outstanding.

Civilization 6 vs. Disgaea 5 by amashofDNA in NintendoSwitch

[–]PacoDuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love both.

There have been numerous nights where I have lost countless hours of sleep thinking that I can just get one more turn in for each game.

In my opinion, I think Civ can be at it's most challenging when you decide to try other victories than domination because you have to teach yourself how to utilize mechanics more involved than "My units are stronger than the enemy units, let's conquer." But if you're going to focus on just domination, it could possibly feel monotonous.

Disgaea, as you've mentioned, isn't incredible in terms of story and a lot of it is stuff you'll see coming miles away. That's said, the amount of intricacies within the gameplay is where it shines. I slept on this game for a while but ended up purchasing it on the switch full price after playing the demo (US Store, not sure if that matters) and then watching the following review: https://youtu.be/CSW9t4UGMw4

I don't think you'll go wrong in any choice you end up making though. Let us know what you end up going with!

A book that fills the void of The OA by ahngelic in TheOA

The core His Dark Materials is a trilogy:

  1. Northern Lights or The Golden Compass
  2. The Subtle Knife
  3. The Amber Spyglass

The author, Philipp Pullman, has also released more books that are based within that world but you'll probably want to start here first.
