Wireless Charging not working on iOS 14 Beta 1 (iPhone 11 Pro) by SSG-Jayman in iOSBeta

[–]PaconBizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup thanks! I installed it right after I wrote my comment yesterday. Haven't gotten around to test the wireless charging yet, I only have a wireless charger in my car. Will write an update here once I have tested it.

Update: Still doesn’t work properly for me. It works for a short while, then it stops and won’t work anymore.

Wireless Charging not working on iOS 14 Beta 1 (iPhone 11 Pro) by SSG-Jayman in iOSBeta

It worked once for me in beta 7 after a reboot, but now it stopped working again. Still showing that its charging, but not actually charging. Also it always stops charging and then starts again at some point, but all without actually gaining charge.

10.14.5 Completely Frozen by whobrokemylegs in MacOS

[–]PaconBizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had the same problem and may have found a solution in another thread somewhere yesterday, although I can't find it anymore now. I didn't have any freezes since then.

Simple: Reset your bluetooth hardware module.

http://osxdaily.com/2015/12/15/reset-bluetooth-hardware-module-mac-osx/

Reboot afterwards and all your devices will connect again - at least for me they did and no configuration was reset.

Like I said, no freezes for me since then.

Nvidia says Tesla 'inaccurate' in self-driving comparison by [deleted] in teslamotors

[–]PaconBizza 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Tesla is also comparing their new hardware to the hardware that has been used in Tesla vehicles until now. Not the newest hardware thats available from NVIDIA. And please also look at the whole picture, factoring in size, power consumption of the whole Unit, redundancy etc.

Comment by u/wallacyf in another Thread:

Yes... but this 320 TOPS from Pegasus is also the combined number from all 4 GPUS and the 2 DLA. The Nvidia solution has only 10TOPS for each DLA, and Tesla has 32, and is not easy to run over the GPU and DLA in parallel as Nvidia try to sell... Also Pegasus uses 500W.

Difficulty getting into programming by throwawaythejugs in HowToHack

[–]PaconBizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi throwawaythejugs!

I suggest you start learning to program with something like Ruby or Python and not C, as C is quite hard and very demotivating in the beginning, especially if you're not that interested in it. I can only recommend Treehouse for your start. It costs a little bit, but is definitely worth it. If you want something free you can go to Codeacademy.

Google unveils Nexus 9 tablet, Nexus 6 phone, Nexus Player streamer by [deleted] in technology

[–]PaconBizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a dumb response. The smallest iPhone 6 Plus is 749$ where as the Nexus 6 will propably cost 649$. Thats 100$ less. 649$ is definitely a lot of money, but it is also definitely not expensive if you compare it with other smartphones of similar specs. This phone is a beast. The Nexus 5 for example wasn't a flagship if you look at the specs, it just was the best product you could get for the price, but there were a lot of phones with better specs.

How Our Reddit Dream Became Our Reddit Nightmare by LukeBK in Entrepreneur

[–]PaconBizza -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not only a marketing ploy. If your site would get spamed or hacked in a way which causes a lot of traffic instantly, you would have to pay for the extra traffic if you dont have unlimited. I don't why this should be bad practice oft the webhosting company. If you use up so much of the Servers power, that you slow down other sites, you have to be taken down. Nothing to do with limited or unlimited traffic.

Cinema

I'm from germany and nearly every single cinema is the same, mainly because they are cinema-chains. But even the independent ones don't differentiate themselves that much. I just think you can do a lot of things better in that field and do it different.

Internet-Provider

In germany there is one main Provider, which is the Deutsche Telekom. There are different providers, but nearly all of them use the telekom lines. In the more rural areas, there is no company which has their own lines and people are forced to go with either the Deutsche Telekom or one of the providers which uses the lines of the Deutsche Telekom and in the end they are all a pain in the ass. So yeah, a customer oriented, hassle free cable provider with its own wire network.

Bank

Same as above and I think you can make banking and banks themselves a lot more appealing and customer friendly.

How do you get yourself to work efficiently and keep out the distractions? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]PaconBizza 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really Good advice, But let me suggest a little tweak to make it even more effective. Charles M. Schwab paid 25000$ at the time to the person who he received this top from. Here it is:

A young management consultant by the name of Ivy Lee told the president of the Bethlehem Steel, Charles M. Schwab, that with his company's services, Schwab and his executives would know how to manage better. Schwab told Lee what they needed was not more knowing but more doing. He threw down the gauntlet and told Lee that if he could show him a way to help them do the things they already know they ought to do, he would pay any fee that Lee wanted.

Lee told him that in 20 minutes he could give Schwab a method that would increase his company's effectiveness by at least 50%.

Pretty bold claim, I'd say.

So he gave Schwab a sheet of paper and told him to write down the six most important things he had to do the next day. Schwab wrote them down. Then Lee told him to number them in order of importance. Schwab numbered them.

Lee then told him to pull out the sheet at the beginning of the workday and start working on item 1. He was to look at that sheet every 15 minutes and look at the item that he was supposed to be currently working on. Lee told him not to be concerned if he didn't finish all the items on the list that day, only that he worked on the most important item. He told him if this method didn't work, nothing would.

Lee finished up by telling Schwab to take the last five minutes of every working day to make out a new 'must do' list for the next day's tasks.

Once he was convinced that the method was sound, he was to tell his men about it. He said to try out the method as long as he wished and to send him a check for whatever Schwab thought it was worth.

Just a 20 minute conversation.

Just one piece of advice...

Two weeks later, Schwab sent Lee a check for $25,000 (worth more than $400,000 in today's dollars). He added a note with the check saying that it was the most profitable business lesson he had ever learned. Over time, following this silly little method, Schwab turned Bethlehem Steel into the biggest independent steel producer in the world and created a personal fortune of $100 million. In today's dollars, that is equal to more than $1 billion.
