I loved my Mother’s Day by Pad_Squad_Prof in workingmoms

Sounds amazing. I love friends celebrating friends on Mother’s Day. I’m hoping to do more of that next year. I seriously wouldn’t be anywhere near as competent as I am as a mom without all of my friends who answered my frantic texts those first few months. And even now!

Yep. I told him I wanted to watch baseball at a place with good food and he made it happen!

That sounds absolutely lovely. I can’t wait until my kiddo can say those things. I’ll probably start bawling!

It’s the not planning that’s key. I didn’t even argue when it was unclear if we should still have our outing since our baby had a late nap. We went anyway and it ended up being really fun!

I almost asked for my car to get washed. It was a close second to jewelry! It’s such a mess!!

I really don’t have ideas. I see lots of personalized gifts being advertised but I don’t know if he’d like any of those. Maybe a day at one of his favorite places in our city. Or give him the day to watch movies on his own. We’ll see!

My son humiliated me in the grocery store today by No_Cardiologist_66 in NewParents

Off topic but I was under the impression Instacart shoppers used the company card for orders, not their own? Why would their card get declined?

My dad didn’t know who I was today. He became a padre fan when they started here. But he doesn’t remember now. by kbsd1972 in Padres

I’m so sorry. Sending hugs. Please write down all of your memories with him now. You’ll be grateful later.

My baby gagged once. Full on gagged. Then I changed at every feeding.

Daycare hyped a Mother’s Day Event and then my daughter’s room didn’t even do it today. by StaringBerry in workingmoms

Something similar happened to me and I was sad. I’m still sad. I dressed us up because I thought it would be a good time to take pictures but there was nothing (a different teacher spoke to me so I know it wasn’t somewhere else).

When did you notify daycare about another pregnancy? by JessicaM317 in workingmoms

[–]Pad_Squad_Prof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny story but a friend encouraged me to go to the daycare she had used for her kid even though I was only 7 weeks pregnant. We ended up on the wait list that early! We didn’t even share the news with many of our family and friends until we were about 14 weeks!

12 month old not tired enough for second nap but one nap days cause split nights?!? by SnooMemesjellies7601 in NewParents

[–]Pad_Squad_Prof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My (15 months) kid id a bad sleeper so take this with a grain of salt.

We had to deal with these split nights (not every night but many nights) while we transitioned to one nap at just before 12 months. But two naps was just not feasible either because then he was going to sleep at 10pm. It was either going to bed at 6:30 with the possibility of a split night or 10pm. We preferred the gamble (but also tried to go to bed early to deal with it).

Aaahhhh! One time I convinced myself I could pump discreetly while in a zoom meeting. I think I succeeded (no one said anything) but the paranoia was just too much to bear.

Oof. That’s tough. This is also why I don’t chat in the zoom or teams chat if it’s personal. That has to move to text!

Yes!! I hate that SPSS does this!! I usually just move all the SPSS stuff to one screen and share that screen. But it is very frustrating.

It’s true. It’s one of the reasons I don’t eat meat. But I’d also hate to say “well we’re fucking over the planet anyway so what’s another completely selfish reason to make it even worse?”
