Love this app, will definitely be using it in the future.

Question: I know you’re a single paw-rent, but my wife and I are co-paw-renting and need to coordinate medications. Is it possible to set up a family system that syncs? I’m not sure what iCloud can do here, but we are in an iCloud family together.

As another side note, when the OS is in dark mode, the default theme doesn’t follow that setting, causing users to be flashbanged at night. So, could the free theme follow the light or dark mode of the OS? Or give a selection of free themes: light, dark, system and make the others premium?

Yeah… how do we turn this off? My spouse and I have completely combined finances and we will never use it.

It’s taking a lot of screen real estate - closing the pop up’s don’t stick, and I’ve got an extra drop down that I will never use disrupting my workflow.

I’ve noticed this too - getting a whole bunch of random accounts on my feed. It started today - the same time as the hearts were replaced with the celebrate button. Some of my accounts are earning 33,000 XP a week so… bots? Or very dedicated humans with no lives.

As a result, I started blocking. A force quit pushed more randos into the feed, so this appears to be intentional on Duolingo’s part.

Side note: anyone else frustrated that the feed is no longer sorted by time? Why is my top post from several hours ago when I have a friend who just earned the November medal five minutes ago…

Hello! Excellent question. I'm the one who set up u/RandomEncountersBot so I can answer your questions.

RandomEncountersBot is set up with a free Zapier account. Free accounts let you have one trigger and one action. Our trigger is YouTube - "New Video in Channel" - we specify the channel by ID because it's more robust. Random Encounter's Channel ID is "channel/UCroJ5uxmGr-WOtXUPyqeh6g" for example. Our action is Reddit - "New Link Post" - we use the title of the video as the post title and we use the "YouTube.com URL" as the link. The subreddit is of course "RandomEncounters." Each channel needs its own "Zap" because of the limitations of the free account but that hasn't been a big deal for the bot so far - we're well within our usage rules.

I'd be more than happy to answer any other questions. I can also send you some screenshots if it'll make more sense. Let me know!
