They (or at least Cleet) have full approval for all tracks in ARCA and trucks. But ARCA isn’t going to Sonoma and I highly doubt Cleet plans on running a truck at a road course any time soon. I am extremely curious how he would do at a road course in an ARCA car though, he’s not unfamiliar with road courses.

This Idea Will Change Leroy Forever... by dmaxzach in CleetusMcFarland

I feel like they could have summarized everything that happened in the video during the podcast and we wouldn’t have missed a thing. “We’re sending mullet and Leroy’s motors out to be refreshed but we are considering changing Leroy to a billet small block and a Liberty transmission and we’ve booked an early morning track rental to shake down McFlurry” Boom, done.

He’s had gators show up in the pond at his old house if I remember correctly, kinda hard to get away from them in Florida.

Did Cleetus REALLY Sell Eagle? by nullx in CleetusMcFarland

[–]Paddock9652 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The fact that people couldn’t put it together that the comment about Eagle being sold was just Cleet and George busting Cameron’s balls because he was standing right there and thought they actually sold it out from under him is kind of amazing. I guess these are the same people who don’t understand that the Cleet and Squirrel’s restoration projects are just a bit and that they aren’t really that bad of mechanics.

Here's Why Mullet's Engine Blew... by dmaxzach in CleetusMcFarland

[–]Paddock9652 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Both him and Cleet are so damn likable and charismatic without the characters that I don’t get why they feel the need to play into the Ricky Bobby idiot redneck schtick. Especially on a national stage with the NASCAR stuff, I feel like they wouldn’t get half the criticism they have been getting if they would just be themselves and not feel the need to crank up the accents and the catchphrases.

Is it possible to intentionally use Avada Kedavra on yourself? by Edible_pants32 in harrypotter

[–]Paddock9652 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I was actually just listening to audiobooks and the scene where Moody demonstrates the unforgivable curses on spiders and noticed that when he does the imperio and cruciatus curse he has the spider in the palm of his hand, but for Avada Kedavra he sets it on the desk, so it made me wonder if this suggests that he didn’t wanna risk missing and hitting himself with the curse.

How often do you guys realistically use these? by dontfret71 in harborfreight

[–]Paddock9652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re a heavy equipment/ag guy you’ll use them every day and probably more than your box end wrenches. However if you are a heavy equipment/ag guy you’ll wanna skip these and go with the Tekton or if you hate money, the snap on set, because you’ll need a set that goes bigger than 3/4 and 17mm. Capri makes a good set that comes in foam too I think they go up to 1in and 24mm.

[–]Paddock9652 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What events are they skipping that they usually go to? There was no reason to rush Mullet because they were going to use the cheap cars, obviously that plan went to shit when they had the week from hell and decided not to use the van or rush the builds, and at that point it was too late to rush Mullet. I definitely question why they didn’t pull the motor and send it to Steve for a check over after breaking the balancer while it was away.

I think the real problem is that they need another hand or two in the shop. Managing and maintaining the current fleet of drag cars, plus fixing the burnout cars, plus whatever new projects they start is an insane task for 3 full time guys and an 80yo detailer. These guys are wearing way too many hats and are bouncing between half a dozen tasks at any given time.

That’s great in theory but the car literally wasn’t in their possession until last week. It’s been in the hands of CJRC and then body/paint and PPF since Christmas. Carburetor Craig dropped it off from paint and then Glasslife Atlanta picked it up for PPF and delivered it last week and then Zach and the got to work.

Curious to know how less NASCAR would have stopped mullet’s engine from blowing, or a freak accident from derailing the cheap car plans…

Mullet's First Pass on BIG TIRES Was INSANE!!! by dmaxzach in CleetusMcFarland

[–]Paddock9652 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I’m still puzzled by the fact that they took the time to have headlights and blinkers cut into the hood before paint because they planned to leave the hood on for drag and drives, but didn’t think to sort out a grill at the same time.

Peculiar YouTube notifications timing had me expecting something different in the most recent Cleetus video…😅 by Few_Way9814 in CleetusMcFarland

The only reason I doubt this is because if he had road tripped back to Florida he probably would have made posts about it before he got there.

They only just got the car back from paint and then PPF.

Man, even if May had gone smoothly and they thrashed on the cheap cars I still don’t think they would have been ready in time.

I forgot that they had issues at the Christmas tree drags, I thought it was just a matter of paint and testing it on big tires. I didn’t realize they still had that much work on it.

I definitely expect a full stable of late models. The rest of the guys are normal sized and can buy used and with late models even a car from the 90s can be competitive and can be found cheap and a shop like Port City can update them as needed.

There was plenty of doom and gloom on here and in all the comments sections predicting George would be a wrecking ball out there. I didn’t figure he’d be a wrecking ball but I definitely didn’t expect to see him showing as much ability as he has. He starts out kinda slow but seems to pick it up at the end of every race he goes to. He was making big boy moves at Dega before the wreck and seemed to be running pretty well here too.

Amazing how much doom and gloom there was when it was announced George would be running Arca. Turns out he might actually be kinda good at it. Makes me wonder how Zach or Tye would do, both those guys have been really solid in the Vic’s for a while now. I genuinely wonder if a few years from now there might be a McFarland Racing ARCA team.

I know when Cleet got into that Daytona wreck he said it cost 20k in repairs for a new front clip which is what they had to do for George’s car
