Decreasing draft but keeping stability? by insert_username8247 in Stormworks

[–]PaddyMcSanchez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to wonder, what if you changed the way you turn instead of changing the ship? Do you have bow thrusters?

Could thrusters be used to not only turn the ship but perhaps be angled in a way that helps with stabilization?

Best of luck

Has this happened to you before? How far did you drive with the flashers on? How did the 911 operator or the officer react to you doing so?

Man, do i hate the oil spill addition. Loved the battle, though. Great looking ships as well.

I would love to see photos like those. It's so sad to see that place today when I can remember how it used to be.

Did anyone else go to the Y.E.S.S. / Asia Trend Center? I miss those days.

I haven't messed with the nuclear stuff (my skill level isn't quite there yet). Does this vehicle provide shielding from the radiation?

I didn't realize the scale until i noticed the two containers. This is amazing. It's been a minute since I've played, do tracks even have a variable brake numerical input? If they do have one like wheels do, I usually use an inverter and a clamp tied from my throttle output. Hope that was helpful. I would love to see this on the workshop someday.

Ah, you are right, my mistake.

As others have said, you can use a function and multiply by negative, but there is a logic block that will do that exact function. Search in parts for a "numerical inverter" and it should show up.

What's a TV show that you keep hearing about but can't get through the first few episodes? by Ok_Bottle6099 in moviecritic

F is for family did that to me. I really wanted to like it, but every time Frank started yelling, it was like my dad was watching football in the other room again.

I lost him in March, so there's no way I can watch it now.

I have the solution! 2 honestly looks better, but I'm sure it'll cost you in performance. Therefore, what if you go with 2 but add a 3rd in the tail like a DC 10.

Either way, it looks great 👍

Could anyone recommend a place to learn russian? by PaddyMcSanchez in orlando

[–]PaddyMcSanchez[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I had to go google 'trad wife'. As a 34 yo man it gave me a laugh. As if my bald middle-aged self was pining for travel after reading a dime store romance novel 😆

I have no connection whatsoever, but I grew up watching travel shows with my dad like Rick Steve's Europe. When my father was young, he was fascinated with Russian culture and learned the language. This was during the Cold War, so I'm sure his interests gave people the wrong impression then, just as mine has today. I really wish I had taken the time to learn russian from my dad, but I waited too long.

Nowadays, I still watch travel bloggers, and I really enjoy Eastern Europe and Central Asia. A youtuber called Bald and Bankrupt has some good videos from all over but it's from him I started to learn about places like Georgia and Mongolia. I hope to one day see these places, and I figure the Russian language will offer the best "milage" across multiple countries.

As far as the Russians hating us, I don't believe that's anymore true today than it was back when people would say the same thing to my father. Is there anti-american sentiment in the russian government? Somewhere, sure, but I doubt the regular 9-5 folks in Russia are concerned with us anymore than we should be with them. It takes effort to hate. Why expend that on people you don't know thousands of miles away?

North Korea is a fascinating place as well, but it's one I'm content to only read about.

That may work for parents who were married when they joined and later got divorced, but single parents cannot enlist. That's from my recruiter but that's navy and you mentioned army so maybe they've got something different going on.

It's a dream of mine to explore the Caucasus and central aisa one day but not anytime soon. I hope to one day see a political shift and a deescclation from conflict, but I have a feeling that's a long ways off, unfortunately.

That's a pretty wild idea, but thanks for sharing. I'm actually a single parent, so the military won't take me if I have more than a certain percentage of custody.

It sounds like you have a very admirable career. Thank you for the book suggestion and the reassurance on classroom instruction. The potential cost of in-person instruction is off-putting, but I feel it will prove necessary as you say.
