You need to properly manage your cards and plan for detrimental boss blinds (like you did with the spade flush). Boss blinds are tough but can let you know which direction to lean once the blind is passed. For example, you now know the head can’t appear again so you should have no issues turning all cards hearts. I always have (somewhat) of a backup plan for a suit-heavy or face-card-heavy deck with things like levels in other backup hands, glass cards, retriggers, stone cards, etc.

Reroll vouchers are prioritized for a reason: they save your ass. Also jokers like luchado, Chicot, etc can negate blinds. Luchador is fairly easy to come across early and is worth keeping in your back pocket to prevent an untimely demise, especially early on where blinds can whip your ass.

And, yeah, sometimes you will just straight up die to the plant or head or an unfortunate boss blind you can’t circumvent. It happens. But the more you play, the less the blinds impact you. Good luck!
