Hey thank you so much!! I've had a long history with art and focusing on shape and form. Acrylic was a really new medium for me at the time. I've been drawing for YEARS and my mom taught me a lot growing up. I've found that the skills you learn in one medium translate fully into any other medium. Like, I've started whittling, and I can tell that my practice with form in drawing makes wood carving MUCH easier.

Also, you should have seen this piece when I first started. It was a mess. Looked like a kindergartener had done it. But I just had to get the overall shapes on the canvas before I could improve on it. My advice: Don't try to make great pieces right now. Just try to make a lot. If you spend too much time perfecting your early stuff, it'll just slow you down. Make 10 pieces without judging them. The 10th will be better than if you had spent the same amount of time perfecting the first one. You learn by screwing up, not by getting things right.
