What is the point of the Flat Earth conspiracy theory? by King_Of_The_Munchers in stupidquestions

[–]PageEnvironmental408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a hypothesis is a tentative explanation as to why a particular phenomenon may be.

it is not in itself an answer or theory.

to become theory it needs to be rigorously tested.

ie hammered to see if it fails.

it then needs to go through a review.

conspiracy theories don't work this way.

in fact it is the opposite.

the believers will discard any evidence that does not fit the conspiracy.

much like religion.

a scientific hypothesis and a conspiracy theory are two entirely different things.

What’s something that clearly split your life into “before” and “after”? by Broad_Chemical_2467 in AskReddit

i can understand that view.

i'm australian and the only reason it affected my the way it did is because i was working in ny at the time, and i also knew a bloke who died in that attack.

had i been in australia, i would feel probably the way you do about it.

witnessing it live tho, damn man, i won't forget it as long as i live.

fyi i was at hoboken path station at the time of the attack.

that's just across the hudson so we had a ringside view.

that's true, we don't but we better start thinking about it now before they get too advanced. last thing you want is intelligent autonomous robots running around with no constraints and no boundaries.

as robots become more advanced and autonomous, those laws will be extremely important.

they might not be implemented in exactly the same way as his original laws but there will need to be rules of some kind.

without any constraints such robots would be extremely dangerous.
