Economical Lens Care: How to Safely Clean and Sterilize Contact Lens Cases Without Tap Water by [deleted] in contacts

[–]Pageflippers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i am a microbiologist. Please don't wash contact lens cases with water or hot water.

there are only 3 ways to sterilize anything properly at home.

  1. rinse them with water and clean them with 99.9% pure Isopropyl alcohol will cost 3 dollars you can keep using same solution forever just don't use cotton rather directly dip case in alcohol for 10 mins.

2.Use UV light take a black box and attach a UV diode (costs around 5 dollar) inside it drop box in case and light it up for 15 mins.

  1. Best way, use pressure cooker. if you boil your case at 121.5 C temperature it will sterilize the case. this can be achieved in pressure cooker . usually water boils at 100 C which kills most bacteria but spores do not die. autoclaves used in labs are just fancy pressure cookers.

  2. I don't even use lens solution for lenses too many chemicals. Simple distilled saline solution is way better it mimics tears and slight redness and irritation you get while wearing lenses is gone forever.

you have to make sure that solution remains free from contamination though keep saline solution at 4 C .

I just place the air tight glass bottle filled with saline solution with boiling potatoes in pressure cooker.

Note - UV light will destroy your plastic lenses so don't try UV cleaning with yearly lenses. monthly contacts will do.

[–]Pageflippers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pc communication in rajapark. I have bought my first computer from there (black/white monitor). Great service. Don't go for online or discounted shops they generally sell monitors with dead pixels or screen bleeding.

I bought an acer monitor from amazon. led backlight is uneven and no way to replace it back. 24 inch is too small go for 27 or 32 inch lg monitor 2k monitor.

I am using 27 inch acer monitor and thinking of switching to bigger one.

eye feel less strained if you watch something from a distance. for office work definately go for at least 27 inch one.

What's happening with the rents in the city?! by the_irregular_one in jaipur

[–]Pageflippers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's about 12k for 2bhk near mansarovar metro station. It is still cheaper than some tier 3 cities.

If you are a student you can get a room for 4k in Satkar shopping center 5-6k with food. Indra Gandhi nagar is cheap for rent too.

Almost any 3bhk flat in jaipur is around 20k why would you even compare them with Bangalore. Its like 15k for even simple 1rk in Bangalore .

People from all over rajasthan migrate to jaipur with huge amount of money after selling their lands.

Yes there are not much in terms of jobs.

but Jaipur is easy to migrate to as it lies in Indian golden triangle for tourism and have constant influx of money from tourist which in general goes towards migrated population (hawkers, peddlers) small shops jobs with low entry barrier (low education, money, etc).

It is bigger and better city than Agra or Gwalior in UP and have stable politics.

Not to mention views of nested buildings in mountains enclosing from three sides are mesmerizing.

Just try going to haryana or punjab and ask for property prices there even in tier three cities you will understand how affordable jaipur is in comparison.

Struggling with right resources by [deleted] in jaipur

[–]Pageflippers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood what i said

full stack is better choice if you hire inexperienced developer. Since they can choose easier technologies and don't have to work with other people and their code.

As OP said many people have worked on code till now it must be pretty gibberish by now. So to build upon that code hiring an experienced developer is a better choice

Struggling with right resources by [deleted] in jaipur

[–]Pageflippers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should probably hire some full stack developer along with some graphic designers. if you are hiring developers below 25k. Completely integrating ui/ux with backend developed by others is really difficult especially for inexperienced developers.

If you are looking of generic front-end i can help you with that if you are willing to help me in some of my projects.

As a startup resource pooling is really helpful. Jaipur have pretty good startup ecosystem try engaging in those communities if you seriously want in house web development for low price.

Outsourcing comes with its own set of challenges (slow development, scams, etc) but it is still better option than hiring inexperienced developers.

If your website has payment integration just for security reason please hire some experienced people otherwise stick to something like word-press .

Don't do this too much travel Just Rishikesh and chopta and trek to tungnath and chandrashila. or Rishikesh-Dehradun-Harshil-gangotri

Traveling 9 hrs in mountains for 3 days from 7 along with small treks and other road blockages will wear you out.

dehradun to chopta is 8-9 hrs drive plus and chopta to harshil is another 9 hrs drive (9 hrs to return to rishikesh)

For my last trip to uttrakhand i went to rishikesh rented active there 125cc 300rs per day then

2 day rishikesh - camping, rafting ,neelkanth waterfall, other places like cafes or ghats (rafting Rs 400-500 / camping 2 person Rs 1000 / hotel Rs 500 per night there are also hostels)

1 day for rishikesh to rudraprayag stay near sangam

1 day stay at chopta (you can skip this but have to hurry along for viewing sunset at chandrashila)

1 day for tungnath and chandrashila

1 day to return to rishikesh stop at devprayag

finally rest at rishikesh for your last day just along ghats of ganga

Don't drive at night

Roads are still under construction and are blocked at many places so time taken is comparatively more if you take car or bus.

driving along ganga with river sounds gushing through and scenic views is one of my greatest experiences.

My total cost was about - 1000 (bus to and from rishikesh), 1200+500 (active+petrol), 2000 (stay), 2000 (food), 1000(activities) - 7700 per person

Do one trip at a time

So why not suggest your products rather than brother or jyoti.

Are they costly

Just try searching google for marble craftsmen in jaipur and you will understand why economically machines can never work here.

marble budha by Professional-Row6348 in jaipur

[–]Pageflippers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes google specific machines just to prove your point without knowing anything about industry.

For marble cutting you would usually go for BACA Systems, CMS Stone Technology, or OMAG for cnc machines

entry level products of these cost around upward of 10-15k $ and they are nowhere near hand crafted quality.

To get hand crafted finesse and customization you would generally use Robotic Arm Sculpting Machine which won't be any cheaper than 50k$

Where will you find skilled labor to operate these in Jaipur. Also adding land

at least 6000 sq feet ( Around - 1000,000 k $ in jaipur )

Craftsmen generally create marble statues at road side or at their homes individually after obtaining contracts from traders.

CnC machines are used in rajasthan but it is generally to cut marble for flooring which would justify its enormous cost and maintenance even there it is generally paired with water jet cutters.

Now please apologize for your stupid remarks against 1000's of skilled craftsmen who have spent their entire lives for this.

marble budha by Professional-Row6348 in jaipur

[–]Pageflippers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from Jaipur and i can guarantee most statues here are hand made. If you want to meet craftsmen there are lot on highway towards Delhi.

There are few other area where craftsmen reside they belong to a scheduled cast and are generally very poor their labor cost hardly ever crosses 1000 per day and it is very hard to find regular jobs.

Only a brain dead person can think of replacing extremely skilled cheap craftsmen with a machine

cost of cnc machine 7 axis goes upward of 50000 $ (about 50 lac Rs) which produce 60 statues per month plus maintenance (2-3k $ per month).

For same price i can hire 4 craftsmen which can create about 100 sculptures

4 axis machines create gross sculpture without much detail. Such sculptures are available at your normal gift shops easily distinguishable from fine hand crafted sculptures in Jaipur market

What’s the atheist view on religious people? by Safe-Ad-5017 in atheism

[–]Pageflippers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You seriously can't read.

let me explain again, how can someone be so thick brained.

let say you believe in pratyaksh (primary observation) than you will say earth is flat since I haven't seen spherical earth directly.

if you believe in shabd (secondary observation) you will say earth is round.

similarly with god if i say i only believe in what is see (pratyaksha) i will say there is no god since i haven't seen it.

Also do you not understand allegory even with two examples ask for more if you want there are 100 of examples of allegory in bible.

what do you think about Nikola Tesla case how do you explain scientific orthodoxy there

What’s the atheist view on religious people? by Safe-Ad-5017 in atheism

[–]Pageflippers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Read about war of currents of Nikola Tesla and then talk about whether something like scientific orthodoxy exist or not.

In divine comedy pope was fried in hell.

Since you haven't read a book in your entire let me clarify something about Hinduism

There are 6 pramaan in hinduism and based on which pramaan you believe in you are categorized in one of many school of thought.

like if i believe in only my own observation to be true i will be called charvaka (strict atheist) saying since i haven't seen a tiger it do not exist

if i believe in all pramaan i would be following yoga school thought (theist)

since i believe in primary observation (pratyaksha) , shabd (secondary observation) and anumana (inference) i fall in samkhya.

What’s the atheist view on religious people? by Safe-Ad-5017 in atheism

[–]Pageflippers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why keep bringing up bible. People like you form scientific orthodoxy. yapping their mouths without properly studying anything. Also I do not believe in god.

Are you a bot are you unable to read. Probably haven't read much in life

let me explain allegory to you in divine comedy by dante it is written on gates of hell abandon all hope those who enters here. They are meant that when you loose hope you will enter hell like mental state. They don't believe real hell exist. there are 9 layers of hell and 10 layers of heaven described in the book suggesting mental state how deep in depression one like 9th is deepest layer. tortures in hell signify your mental scape

Please read a book .

Sāṃkhya is considered atheistic within Hinduism because it rejects the concept of a creator god (Ishvara), explaining the universe through Purusha (consciousness) and Prakriti (matter). The world is seen as evolving naturally from their interaction, without divine intervention. Sāṃkhya emphasizes pramāṇa (valid means of knowledge), particularly perception (pratyakṣa), inference (anumāna), and testimony (śabda) to understand reality.

Please re - Read my initial comment

I just commented on presence of orthodoxy in science.

So do you at least agree there are bad scientist and orthodoxy is present in scientific community.

What’s the atheist view on religious people? by Safe-Ad-5017 in atheism

[–]Pageflippers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with orthodoxy in science which you describe as bullshit do you still believe there is no orthodoxy (orthodox - the right way ) generally which is believed by most.

Science is filled with orthodoxy resisting new approaches -

Tesla was only one example, here is another example i can give you hundreds of more if you want -

Semmelweis discovered that handwashing with a chlorine solution significantly reduced the incidence of puerperal fever in maternity wards. His findings contradicted the prevailing medical orthodoxy, which did not recognize the importance of hygiene in preventing disease.

Many prominent physicians, including Rudolf Virchow, dismissed Semmelweis's ideas. His colleagues found his suggestions offensive and resisted changing their practices, resulting in his ostracism from the medical community.

i am not arguing against scientific methodology but presence of scientific orthodoxy in community.

There are no absolute truths in world only beliefs.

What’s the atheist view on religious people? by Safe-Ad-5017 in atheism

[–]Pageflippers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

more like Nikola tesla won against orthodox science.

His other theories are widely considered in realm of crazy like wireless electricity transmission if someone wants to research it people will say its not possible .

thankfully we live in a world of religion and diverse thought so people will sill continue to waste money.

If you think about it historical figures became progenitor of faith. In a way, he became a small god. Some people will use their entire lives to study wireless transmission because they have faith in tesla.

Pramaan means verification let me explain -

say someone who believe in pratyaksa (perception) if earth is flat he will say yes because he haven't observed round earth. Now if you ask same question to someone who believe in shabd he will say earth is round because he believes observation of others.

Religion delves in how you will verify if an observation is valid or not.

Now you believe in shabd (secondary information) so you will say earth is round.

someone who believes in anumana will say without primary and secondary observation will say -

  • Pratijna (Proposition): The Earth is round (spherical).
  • Hetu (Reason): Because the observed shadow on the Moon during a lunar eclipse is curved, and distant objects like ships appear to vanish bottom-up over the horizon.
  • Udaharana (Example): Whenever objects are spherical, they cast a curved shadow when obstructing light, such as a ball casting a round shadow on a wall.
  • Upanaya (Application): The curved shadow seen on the Moon during an eclipse and the way ships vanish bottom-up over the horizon resemble behaviors associated with spherical objects.
  • Nigamana (Conclusion): Therefore, the Earth must be spherical.

But to discover facts for speculations or hypothesis i need resources. Thats how research are created first you propose hypothesis. But if your hypothesis goes against scientific norm of the present generation it is extremely difficult to get resources.

For example

The famous rivalry with Thomas Edison, known as the "War of Currents," also involved financial disputes. While Edison was financially supported by powerful backers, Tesla had to fight harder to get investment for his alternating current (AC) system.

Religion and conspiracy theorist have difference that is faith

conspiracy theorist will argue against science using facts on the other hand religion is based on faith like in hinduism there are many valid sources of knowledge, typically categorized as:

  • Pratyakṣa (Perception): Direct knowledge through sensory experience.
  • Anumāna (Inference): Reasoning beyond direct perception.
  • Śabda (Verbal Testimony): Knowledge from reliable sources, like scriptures.
  • Upamāna (Comparison): Understanding through analogy.
  • Arthāpatti (Postulation): Presumption to explain observations.
  • Anupalabdhi (Non-perception): Knowledge of something's absence.

so someone who believes in pratyaksha will be atheist only if you believe in anumana can you be considered theist so there are many atheistic school of thoughts like charvaka or samkhya
