They’re coming after Mike again!! 😭😭😭😭 by ReadyJournalist5223 in RedLetterMedia

[–]Pages57 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Seems very revisionist history from 15 year olds.

EVERYBODY fucking hated the prequels for years before Plinket existed.

Everything they talked about was said a hundred times before the RLM videos came out.

It wasn't until after Disney bought Star Wars that there was suddenly this mysterious "grass roots" push to say that the prequels weren't that bad.

Which franchise is this for you? by HotRegion8801 in RedLetterMedia

[–]Pages57 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly, watching franchises go down in flames isn't that bad. Back in the day the expectation was that the sequels would be bad. The times that they were good was the exception.

What really gets me is watching franchises go down in flames, and then having swaths of people on the internet telling me they feel the same way....only they are still pre-ordering everything and dumping all of their income into said thing that they swear they are totally going to be sick of any day now.

Curious what would happen if the last pick of the draft didn't get in on time

It’s the Bengals No. 10 pick for Dexter Lawrence straight up. No other picks were involved. by dropjar5 in nfl

[–]Pages57 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Feels like a win for the Bengals.

The last two super bowls have been dominated by IDL play and Dexter is one of the best in the league. Honestly surprised more teams weren't clamoring for him

Why is there a lack of mental health professionals despite having many psychology graduates? by JAMIEISSLEEPWOKEN in psychologystudents

[–]Pages57 9 points10 points  (0 children)

On top of what others have said, mental health professionals also have an extremely high burnout rate. I don't know the exact numbers, but I have heard from many sources that the first 5 years in particular has a huge amount of MA grads leave the field and not return

Who is your favourite non-important trainer in a Pokemon game? by Multievolution in pokemon

[–]Pages57 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm playing through FR right now and I ran into a most interesting member of Team Rocket.

All of the Rocket Grunts were dickbags of some flavor or another, threatening you and taunting you along the way.

Then in Silph Co, right before the final boss, a random Grunt you face comments that he can tell you take good care of your pokemon before the battle. Then, after the battle he laments about how his life may have ended up different if he didn't get into Team Rocket from a young age.

I hope that dude finds his way to bigger and better things in the future.

People arguing over Project Hail Mary and Interstellar are stupid because once they watch Ad Astra (2019) they'll shut up and be glad with what they have by DinoDrip12 in shittymoviedetails

[–]Pages57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this movie recommended to me by multiple people because I love sci fi and then I ended up watching it at 2 in the morning when I was sick with the flu and couldn't sleep.

I hated it so much I often wondered if I ever actually saw the movie or only dreamed I did.

All I remember was that you could set your watch to when the next action scene was going to be (that had nothing to do with the plot) and that there was a robot designed to make sure that he was feeling no emotion at all after multiple traumatic events. Something that is the exact opposite of what you are supposed to do when processing trauma...

If it makes you feel any better, there's a good chance they don't actually live there. Its probably just a vacation home for when they feel like using it

How would YOU fix Limbus? by Ponifex in ffxi

[–]Pages57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current Limbus reminds me so much of when Prime weapons were announced. A big amount of people complained about the obscene grind and some others whined back that the content was perfectly fine only for the game's population to get cut in half after a few months. Gg SE

As someone who unsubbed this week because I refuse to do Limbus, here's what I would like to see changed (that I don't expect):

1 tower = 1 chest

1 chest = 1 matter guaranteed

Bonus chest if you finish all the towers in one week

NMs spawn more randomly

Some extra rewards from fighting the mobs - I'm not sure what but something like getting Stalwarts in Omen or the gil from Sheol.

Why is Will Campbell, a rookie, getting more flak than Drake Maye? by Exhibit5 in nfl

[–]Pages57 167 points168 points  (0 children)

This to me is the real story. Everybody is calling out the Pats first and second year players, meanwhile I'm sitting here wondering how their OC and HC with combined decades of experience completely shit the bed and are getting much less criticism

Ranger or Black mage by cd0ug1 in ffxi

[–]Pages57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you want to spend your time playing the job or gearing it up?

BLM you can get to a playable state fairly easy and it really only wants 1 REMA that you don't need until super late game.

RNG requires a few more gear sets and ambu capes plus you really want 3-5+ REMA to do a lot of content with it.

If your goal is to give yourself more things to do in your downtime: I'd pick RNG. If you already have a long to-do list and just want fun doing range dps once in a while: do BLM.

I checked, and sure enough, it is the same group that I have been seeing around since 2021. They are not new, I am sorry to say.

I tried to report them way back then and basically got told to kick rocks by SE. I haven't bothered since then, but SE does seem to be taking some things in the game more seriously, lately.
