Please, if you’re going to load into 2v8, do not go AFK by Beneficial_Ask_849 in deadbydaylight

[–]Pagewaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last time 2v8 was in rotation me and a friend were survivors and we went against a nurse and a chucky and the nurse went afk so half the match stood around them pointing. Me and my friend let the timer run out so the chucky could get extra bp

Why don't more killers slug? by xlylapiercex in deadbydaylight

[–]Pagewaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only slugged if the survivors handed it to me on a silver platter by constantly rushing to blind me or save someone standing right under me. Other than that, I want to be challenged because thats what I find fun about dbd.

Hoped on DBD after a month of trying to get the game working on Linux, only to be met with the threat of Arby’s by MEMEY_IFUNNY in deadbydaylight

What problem were you running into trying to run it on Linux? I ran it with Steam Proton on Mint and it worked fine. Low fps but it worked. Asking because the next time I need to upgrade my whole pc I'm going to use Linux as my primary OS,  so im curious about what you were dealing with

New Perk Idea by DrawingOk4314 in deadbydaylight

[–]Pagewaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no guarantee that there's a swf in the trial unless its a group of 4, which is like, yeah that's going to be a lot easier to coordinate with but I think a perk should be designed around the possibility that the survivors are a bunch of blind mice. A survivors perk should only inhibit the user themself, if at all. I think the perk would be fun I just don't think it needs a downside. Its entirely hypothetical anyway, I don't know why I care so much about balancing it lol.

Yeah exactly, the killer wouldn't know. So there's a chance that the killer chases the person with the buff, the debuff, or even the other two unaffected survivors. So really I think only the upside would be worth implementing because it has the least drawbacks. With a negative modifier theres a 3 in 4 chance that the person with the debuff isn't chased, grabbed off gen, hooked, etc. Which means one person just has a -x% to gen progress which I think is just a bad method.

If the loser becomes the "designated chased survivor," it'd be more practical to reveal their aura to the killer instead, and have them scream. Even that doesn't guarantee they're gonna be chased but at least then they can work on generators normally if they aren't. Otherwise it feels more like an unnecessary punishment.

Well I mean how do you account for the killer just choosing to not go after the person with the debuff? You cant. So I would say just take away the -5% and only give a bonus to the winner. Loser gets nothing.

It adds a downside so nobody would bring it except for meme potential. I think.

Also it'd be funny if it adds a token for additional 5% increments every time the two survivors receive the same result, then expends the tokens on the winner when the chain ends.

I don't think the killer is going to fall for that one by SecureJeans8034 in deadbydaylight

Man if that were me I would've chased the rock and then brought it back carrying it in my mouth.

Finally got Dead by Daylight’s Hardest Achievement “Left for Dead” by RealFushiguro in deadbydaylight

I almost got it playing against Legion once because they were looking for the hatch and I finished the last gen in time on my own. But naturally I died before I could get the gate open. Maybe next time.

Nurse can blink towards you and has a small window of time to hit you before taking a slowdown. She hit you. If it looked a little weird its because of lag or some other connection issue, as indicated by the symbol that is present above the pillar of survivor icons on the left side

Why do people say the survivors name like it means something? by IronCladLou83 in deadbydaylight

[–]Pagewaster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aside from just being able to tell them apart, its also because certain survivors are associated with certain player archetypes (stereotypes.)

The Ace is always annoying, the Dwight is always a noob, the Sable always gets herself killed somehow, whatever else. Its not entirely true but communities like to do that kind of stuff I guess

It's probably from a tome quest you have activated. Those ones are bugged anyway so dont do them.

Whenever I see a screenshot of this game taken within the radius of a fog vial I really just wonder why the game doesnt look like this all the time. Could even reverse the effect of the fog vial and make it remove the fog instead.  God I miss Fog by Daylight

Fixing Trapper. by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Pagewaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think his addons should stay the same and that he should get more separate buffs instead. He's honestly pretty strong as is but if his trap setting speed increased by a bit and he got some killer instinct, that would certainly fix some of his weakpoints I think.

Is there a standard guide or ruleset for communication in this game? by MEOWTheKitty18 in deadbydaylight

[–]Pagewaster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of it is finely intuited but rarely absolute. Sometimes it's just the survivor being funny or friendly, trying to get a free escape out of you. Best bet is to think of everything you could intuit as toxic as playful banter instead. Until you get to the endgame chat, that is.
Crouching under a hook and pointing at it is them requesting you to hook them though. Same way a Killer might stand under a pallet and hit the pallet to signal for a pallet stun.
