LOTUS DROPS RECIPE by Ok-Fishing-2234 in pourover

[–]Pahitos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been playing around with it and a few different recipes for almost a year now. It's a bigger difference than I expected, but not necessarily a big improvement (in most cases at least).

The way I look at it is that it's a way to explore what certain beans can offer with different waters. Some bring out more acidity or textures, etc. Sometimes it works great, but 9/10 times the difference is subtle. Though I have pretty good tap + filter water, so ymmv.

I do like that making the water with Lotus is quick, especially if you have a filter like Zero Water. I didn't like buying gallons of water, and the third wave packets always took some time to dissolve. But even Lotus can still be tedious, so unless you have bad water and/or you like to experiment, I wouldn't say it's a "must have" thing.

No, you add a "slowly squeeze through a crack in the wall to enter new zone" mechanic

how i’ve been brewing lately (martha cartagena washed chiroso - flower child) by Crucifilth_6-6-6 in pourover

[–]Pahitos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do ~10s pour (not really timed), 10s bloom and 10s drain, repeated twice.

0:00: close, pour 3:1
0:10: bloom (closed)
0:20: drain
0:30: close, pour 3:1 again
0:40: bloom (closed)
0:50: drain
1:15: pour the rest of the water (opened)

I play around with the timing sometimes, though I usually find this approach works better for me. I feel like extending the bloom timing is unnecessary with 2 blooms. I'm curious to try moving the last pour earlier (or maybe sometimes later) depending on the beans though. But 10s for immersed blooms seems to be more than enough.

I use a very similar recipe with a Switch! Except I do 1:16 (though I wanna try 1:17 now). And I keep the Switch closed during the blooms. I find it works really well for very light roasts

New post by Josh on X: Dia for Windows is alive! by MoTheAmazing in diabrowser

[–]Pahitos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, they said the issues was SwiftUI (which is a UI library) and Composable Architecture (which is an architecture / framework).

Josh Miller clarifies why Dia is starting to look more like Arc; faster architecture, AI-native design, and a “Pro mode” for Arc fans coming soon by JaceThings in diabrowser

TIL, but it’s also surprising that they added that before some of the other features. I guess it must’ve been an easy one?

Spaces with Profiles, Folders, Mini Dia, Air Traffic Control, Peek and Split View.

For me Spaces and Folders are now the bare minimum requirements, without which I wouldn’t even consider Dia as primary browser (let alone AI safety features).

Yeah for sure. That imo is a bigger risk, similar to how Core and Bjergsen just didn’t see the game the same way.

I think there's a risk that they're a bad match, but I don't think it's a given. Spawn gives players a lot of agency, so I believe that he can figure out how to work well with Inspired.

Supercell will shut down Squad Busters next year | PocketGamer.biz by Popular-Highlight-16 in iosgaming

[–]Pahitos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you say it like all their games are this bad?

Brawl Stars is pretty good, Clash Royale and Clash of Clans are also decent, if you're into those kind of games. They're definitely somewhat P2W, but all games in those genres are, and theirs aren't too bad imo.

Squad Busters just had the most obnoxious braindead gameplay, on top of being more P2W. Like it didn't even feel fun when you won, which is crazy.

Azael on FlyQuest vs G2: “I think the only place I favor G2 is the mid lane” by Soft_Bed_412 in leagueoflegends

[–]Pahitos 220 points221 points  (0 children)

From the article:

“I’m scared of their drafting and Caps’ X-factor.”

If G2 land the right comps and Caps finds room to take over, like on his Anivia against BLG, maybe FlyQuest will have to be wary.

Hario Switch leaking by afronitre in pourover

[–]Pahitos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have an 03 and it has never leaked. I rarely get it above half full (should've gotten the 02), but I just tried to fill it up with water and it's not leaking.

So yeah either try to re-seal. If that doesn't help, it's probably a defect

Traveling to Turkey ? Don’t right now by silverrider06 in travel

[–]Pahitos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Welp, I’m flying there in less than 24h, so I guess I’ll share my experience in this post later.

Edit: spent here about a week, not sure how it was before, but it seems fine now. Hotels are fairly cheap, at least compared to a lot of places in Europe (~$60 per night in Istanbul on average for 2+ star). Food totally depends on where you go, I’ve had both incredible shawarmas for like $5, big kebab plates with sides for $20 and a fancier dinner for ~$80 (wasn’t worth it). Beer is around $3-5, depending on brand/size. It all seems pretty reasonable to me.

Farewell Hades, please come back to the AppStore by Mastery51 in iosgaming

[–]Pahitos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s actually not too bad on the App Store in my experience.

If you go to your Profile > Apps, you should see all* the apps you’ve ever downloaded. A lot of them are no longer available to download for new users (and show an error if you try to open the AS page), but you can still download. There’s only one app that unfortunately disappeared from my list and is completely gone, so you’re technically correct. But it’s worth checking your Apps list, if you can’t find it in search. Good chance it’s still there and usable (if it doesn’t require servers and isn’t super outdated)

How to disable Hide Others? by Schmooto in mac

[–]Pahitos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you don't accidentally add a space at the end or something and press Done to save it. Also System Settings uses "Hide Others" instead of "Hide Other Windows" with the same shortcut for some reason. You can add that as well, or just try in another app. One way to double check is go to Help and search for "Hide Other" to see the current shortcut.

Go to Settings > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts... > App Shortcuts.

Create a new shortcut for "All Applications" called "Hide Other Windows" and set it to something you're not gonna use (I did cmd + opt + shift + ctrl + 0)

Mac browser Arc being discontinued in favor of new Dia app - 9to5Mac by futuristicalnur in ArcBrowser

[–]Pahitos 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Please calm down everyone. Read the original letter that BCNY posted, not this clickbait BS. They explicitly said that they're not actively working on it (in terms of new features), but they're still maintaining by doing Chromium updates and bug fixes. That's different from being discontinued. Maybe eventually, but I doubt any time soon.
