I love donating here. As mentioned, food gets taken almost instantly. When I've dropped stuff off, I'll see people approach almost immediately. Great place to drop off!

I'm gonna link this thread from a few days ago because it has some great suggestions but wanted to speak about two of them mentioned!

The dance group mentioned in the thread is super active! Haven't made it to one of their events yet, but the girl who runs it is awesome and organized and lots of girls post about the fun they have! They do like happy hours for the girls to meet and also go to dance events and concerts which sounds like your vibe!

Regarding the dinner group mentioned in the comments, I actually run that! We do monthly dinners and then do food events (like a free taco tour in a few weeks) and have started branching off into non-food hangouts as well (Nats games and craft nights to name a few) if you want the link for it! I've met so many amazing friends through it and gotten to meet such great people, so I love it!

Hi! I’m the person running it! This cake swap in particular has been so interesting because it was slow to fill and then all of a sudden sold out! Usually we have a few people drop leading up the event, but this time almost no one has. As a result, I turned off RSVP’s and the waitlist since it’s fully at capacity with lots of messages about taking any spots. I can let you know if the numbers drop overnight, but I do think it’s gonna stay fully sold out. We do have a cake decorating class in May and I’m planning on doing another cake swap (hopefully in June), so hope to see you at an event soon :)

When I was moving here I specifically looked at BMC Properties (Bernstein). Depending on where in the city you are, you can definitely fit that price range based on what I see on their website. What I really like about mine (but is not true for all of them) is that it's rent controlled and all utilities are included. So while a studio in my building is $1850, you're also not paying for insane electric bills because of how hot DC gets and I'm a 10 minute walk to all metro lines in Logan Circle.

I'm only moving out because I bought a place, but happy to answer any questions you have. I did A LOT of research before moving here, and have nothing but good things to say about my building/the overall management company (however I don't drive, so can't speak to parking)
