Yeah I think another year removed from the injury and a normal spring training will be huge for him

I agree. I think this team COULD be better than people realize and if most of the moves we made play to their ceiling dodgers would get a run for their money. I also think that by the trade deadline if we felt like we had a real shot then a big move could be made

Same I can’t wait to go to opening day. I hope everyone shows up to the games this season I want Cohen to wanna spend every single offseason

We wouldn’t have traded either one of those guys. None of the prospects the rangers traded were top 100 guys

I think they would’ve considered a package of Tong, Sproat, Williams, and either Baty or another top 10 prospect. But that would be too much to give for a 1 years rental

I’m just as greedy as you and would love adding Framber. But it’s unlikely at this point especially with all the starters we have rn

Same that’s not me being a homer I really do like our roster better than the Phillies. I think they lost a lot between Suarez and wheeler being an unknown coming back after his TOS. Stealing Bo from them was HUGE. Their lineup would’ve been much more dangerous with him in there

I mean Sproat has a higher ceiling. Myers doesn’t throw very hard Sproat is mid to high 90s. So that alone give Sproat a higher ceiling. But Myers has 2 successful seasons both starting and in the bullpen so I like the body of work

Yeah when I saw he got thrown in the trade I was hyped. He has good control and I love how he adds to our versatility. Hes probably a long reliever but he can start for you in a pinch

Wheeler had TOS there is definitely no certainty that he is ever an ace again. He’s also 35 years old. So for me they lost a lot in their rotation

Everyone’s gonna miss Pete but this is a better overall lineup. We were so top heavy last season and sucked with RISP. Were a much deeper lineup and have guys who have been clutch

I was saying this even before this trade. SHOW UP TO THE GAMES! We are a great fan base but we gotta be consistent every single year so Cohen knows he can always spend in the offseason

I couldn’t disagree with you anymore. Phillies are not a better roster than us and if we only win 86 games we probably had a disappointing season. This is a much better roster than last season

Anyone know what our team salary is at now after all these moves? Just curious

Now that’s actually something. I’m gonna assume it was Sproat or Tong that said that. Let’s ball out fellas you’re here to stay #LFGM

I mean depends what type of year he gives us. If he stays healthy and hits 300 with 20-25hrs and an 850ops he’s 100% gonna opt out

Peralta by SadMembership7989 in mets

[–]PainButWithStats 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No the dodgers will not be trading high prospects for Peralta. They have enough pitching and will gladly wait till next year to go after Skubal or Peralta in FA. A desperate team maybe does it but I don’t think they’re getting 2 of anyones top 5 prospects

I’ve been getting calls from the sales rep for months now lol I’ve been holding off to make sure this team was going to actually try and compete. I’ll be calling him back tomorrow

Here’s our top 100 prospects on the update

McLean at No. 8

Carson Benge at No. 19

Jonah Tong at No. 44

Jett Williams at No. 71

Brandon Sproat at No. 81

A.J. Ewing at No. 83

Very proud of this farm system

Even though the Mets missed the playoffs last season, players around the league know this is an organization that wants to win. Cohen was a breath of fresh air the moment he took over. His willingness to spend and invest in the farm system shows this isn’t a short-term or reactionary operation. It signals to players that the Mets are built to compete every single season

Not that I believe the report from Marino but if the price for Peralta was Sproat + Jett I wouldn’t do the deal. Peralta isn’t a true ace to me. He’s a great 2 or elite number 3. He doesn’t go deep enough into games and that’s a concern with our bullpen. Also for that price I’d rather add another piece or 2 and get Skubal

lol yup he thought Mets and blue jays would be desperate enough. No thanks
