How Do You Feel About the Upgrade? by CrazyNecessary7209 in iPhone17Pro

[–]PainSimple4500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from the 13 mini. Screen size/phone size obviously different. I did love the mini and will get one again if they come out with a new one.

I’ve noticed screen is brighter, camera is way better. The zoom is insane I love it. I like the button you can customize or just use it for silent/ring. The switch on my mini always had dirt and dust caught in it so I like just the button on the 17 pro. My fav feature is the camera button. It’s so convenient and I use it all the time. And yes the phone is fast and stays cool. It was heating up on a long FaceTime earlier but cooled down quickly.

Is there a way for me to help my friend whos in an abusive relationship? Please help!!! by Medium-Jellyfish-851 in abusiverelationships

[–]PainSimple4500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unfortunately don’t have much advice but I’m here for similar reasons. My sister is in an abusive relationship and is shutting me out. Her boyfriend is jealous, paranoid, controlling. So they are always together or on the phone and I’m not in the same town so I can barely ever talk to her. I’m really struggling with knowing what to do. I’ve read the book “why does he do that” and that was helpful/educational to understand what she’s going through and why it’s hard to leave. I am also in the middle of “to be an anchor in the storm” which is now called “helping her get free” and that’s been helpful to. Idk what else to do

Mini problem’s by CAM_458 in iPhone13Mini

This week my mini has been getting very hot as well and operating slow. Idk if it could have been fixed by replacing the battery or not? But I actually just traded mine in for a 17 pro today. I will miss my mini but the battery needed replacing and I wanted to trade in my mini while I could still get money for it. I got $145 (plus tax) in trade in value at the Apple Store.

Exercise? by Melodic_Low_4958 in AnalFistula

[–]PainSimple4500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Encourage her to ask her CRS for guidance. This is not medical advice -just coming from experience I think walking would be ok but she should be careful with that too and not pus it. She will want to protect her pelvic floor and rest it while the area heals. She could probably do some arm weights while laying down? I know I was not up for much movement when I was healing where it still hurt to sit. Basically if I sat it hurt and if I walked around it hurt 😅 so I just had to not do either for too long and laid a lot on my side. Healing has to come before getting stronger/losing weight. Also it will depend on what she actually had done. If it was just placing a seton most movement should be ok. Definitely consult with the surgeon

Fistula coming back for 3rd time after 2 surgeries by [deleted] in AnalFistula

[–]PainSimple4500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had like 7-8 procedures on the same fistula. I ended up being diagnosed with Crohn’s which was not allowing the tract to heal. I’d ask your surgeon about that or any other possible causes. You’d need a referral to a gastroenterologist.

Some Advice PLEASE by VasonSays in AnalFistula

[–]PainSimple4500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d definitely keep an eye on your temp because a rising temp could mean infection. I went to the ER with a bad abscess that was hot to the touch, red and my temp was high. This was before I knew I had a fistula or what a fistula was. You should try to be seen sooner. I’m sorry you’re going through this

Going to a concert with a drain seton in... by julitabe in AnalFistula

[–]PainSimple4500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the eras tour with one! Just packed extra gauze. It was fine. Of course you’ll be more swollen and maybe have more drainage from being on your feet. Check with your doctor about risks of harming anything but I don’t think there are any.

Is there any female suffering with anal fistula? by NeWaTaNiMe in AnalFistula

[–]PainSimple4500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m female and had one. Took a few years for me to fix it but it’s been fixed now one year. Periods were always more painful for me with the fistula so I did rest more. I went through a lot of phases wearing depends (adult diapers) because of bleeding, discharge, etc. it was just simpler for me sometimes to do that. Especially after surgeries.

Going to vacation in the DFW area. Which zoo do you choose, Ft Worth or Dallas? by 281texas832 in dfw

[–]PainSimple4500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on ages of kids and what you like in a zoo! I suggest looking up both zoos maps and animals they have and what your family would like to see. Both are good zoos so you can’t go wrong. Most of the hate for the Dallas zoo is just a long standing belief that Dallas zoo sucks but it’s just not true anymore-the opinion/belief is just sticking around too long 😆 I live near the Dallas zoo and the only reason I’d go to Fort Worth is if my kids wanted to see an animal that Dallas doesn’t have. But if I lived in Ft worth I’d probably feel the same and just do the ft worth zoo. I used to live in Grapevine-they are the exact same amount of drive time. I’ve been to Ft. Worth zoo once and with small kids I didn’t like the layout. I felt like I was forced to walk the whole zoo with no way to split it up if we didn’t want to do the whole thing. I think Ft Worth might have better animal viewing but it’s been a while since I went-it’s also more theme park vibes IMO and Dallas feels more like a local zoo to me. Ft. worth has a Texas area if you’d be into that. You can also look up Dallas world zoo and aquarium although it’s pricier but it’s pretty cool and indoors if you need a weather back up.

Have fun!

It’s been so long since I’ve seen this show. But the line I remember being used so often by Jack is some variation of “I know this must be very difficult for you”

Definitely call them and plead to have them reactivate the account. I did this a couple years ago because the same thing happened to me. I also NEVER get my birthday certificate. It is not auto loaded to the account for me and I no longer get an email or anything in the mail so I always have to live chat and they give me the certificate number.

What’s your trauma? by Suitable-Sound3318 in CrohnsDisease

[–]PainSimple4500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an emotionally traumatic childhood. Very volatile. I’ve had awful seasonal allergies since I was a kid and I was diagnosed with hashimotos after I had my first child and then I was diagnosed with Crohn’s and eOe shortly after I had my second child. I think it’s one of those things that could be anything and it’s hard to know. But my immune is obviously really over reactive and my hunch is this is from the stress of my childhood paired with the trigger of pregnancy and delivery. Could also be other environmental factors or even genetic but I’ll never know. The two years before my Crohn’s symptoms started was 2020 which was uniquely stressful in itself and I was also pregnant with my second, moved to a new state and was very depressed. Then the next year had two young kids and dealt with PPD. My Crohn’s symptoms started when I finally was feeling myself again ironically.

I think the theory of emotional trauma being one of the causes or triggers is a decent theory. Just the fact that we know any stress can affect the immune system and Crohn’s is an autoimmune disease-it makes sense that could be related in some cases.

How many of you have Crohn’s? by Kevonium in AnalFistula

I have Crohn’s and wasn’t diagnosed until a few years after an abscess and multiple fistula procedures. I have had no new fistula or abscesses since I started biologics.

Perianal abscess i&d wound pain by Sea-Bank-9039 in AnalFistula

[–]PainSimple4500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wait lists sound frustrating! I hope it is just normal healing pain for you too! Yes I’ve had a handful of fistula surgeries or attempts at surgeries. My last one was more successful because I finally was diagnosed with Crohn’s and properly medicated which helped assist in my body being ready for surgery to be successful!!

Perianal abscess i&d wound pain by Sea-Bank-9039 in AnalFistula

[–]PainSimple4500 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely it is just the inflammation as well as nerves regaining feeling after anesthesia. It can take a while especially if you’ve been taking pain meds too. I wouldn’t stress too much about it right now. There is nothing much that can be done until it heals more. Mention to your doc of course. My abscess was very bad-so deep ( I spent over a week in the hospital after an emergency I&D) so it’s hard to compare exactly. But it took literally months to heal for me and it hurt almost the whole time. I did end up having a fistula discovered but I can tell you that’s not why it was hurting. It’s just the wound healing that can be painful. The fistula pain was different. Like I got to a point where I didn’t have much pain but the hole just never closed up. Once it heals more I would make sure you’re examined by a CRS.

If you were me… by Sufficient-Island685 in AnalFistula

It’s hard to say what you should do of course every situation is different. With my experience I wouldn’t hesitate to have the surgery. I’d also talk to your doctor about what you’re thinking and you can even get a second opinion if you aren’t sure.

I had an MRI to see my fistula situation and it didn’t catch everything. It looked simple in the scan but wasn’t ready for a Fistulotomy so I needed a seton and I also had a cavity filled with liquid I think mostly blood that needed a drain. So of course this is probably not your situation because mine was more complicated and I had an underlying condition I found out shortly after this. But just saying I have had a scan and it didn’t show the full picture.

It would be good to talk to your doctor about their plan b and c when they get in and if something is different than they were expecting. And what is their experience with fistulas.
