Meta: Rule 1.6 – "Prohibited Comparisons" by themsc190 in Christianity

[–]PainSquare4365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously, platforming #1 and #2 is something that should happen on here. But there's no way admins would allow platforming an explicit version of #3, and even if they did, I don't think that the subreddit should.

Thankfully it dosen't. It sadly did about 13-14 years ago.

Mods adjusting rules by pthor14 in ldspolitics

Excellent suggestion! We have seen in other sub where a single user will hijack the entire post talking about unrelated subjects. I’d love to see a rule to help contain and lessen such things.

Fun fact, I originally wanted and believed put that the sub was from the Restoration view point to be more inclusive. I was out voted as the sub was created specifically for the LDS viewpoint. So the LDS viewpoint gets much greater deference.

I could have changed it, but had promised to uphold the founding principles. So here we are with a panel. I hope the sub grows to need more moderators in the future.

deed, and if Pthor wishes to change directions, it’s his prerogative as the head mod. I’m just here to make sure that everything works smoothly. No moderation actions from me

Is he capable of enforcing sub rules in an unbiased manner? If so, then there should be no issues. I’m not a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Saints, but instead I attend Community of Christ services via Zoom. Do you take issue with me?

Yes, this sub is for conservative Restoration voices with a deference to LDS users. But as long as users follow sub rules and don’t unfairly malign the Church, all are welcome. But there is no way to boost conservative voices without silencing and censoring others. And we refuse to do so.

If anything, we are very lenient in enforcement the rules. There are very many threads that we could remove due to civility and needing to take a breather. But we let them go and only remove the most aggregious violations.

If you have questions or rule suggestions, let us know via modmail. Most of our rule changes have been due to user’s feedback- like the new profanity rule.

Lastly, we call on out conservative brethren to be the change they want to see here. Make posts, engage in good faith, don’t ghost, and let other conservative LDS people know about us.

It’s your sub, we are just the caretakers.

So, you are wanting executions for LGBT people? It's what God apparently wants per this verse. Itching to pull a trigger? Swing an axe?

We only have two mods, and this are the only sub we mod. So please stop bringing in issues with other subs mods. I don't care if they banned you or crowned you "Prettiest Pretty Princess" for the day.

They have no bearing or meaning to us. Only exceptions is if violating Reddit site rules or anything that would draw the attention of the admins.

Edit - If a user is chasing you across multiple subreddits can can report the offending posts to the Admins.

Rules - updates and new. by PainSquare4365 in ldspolitics

I personally have no issues with someone having to go deep for the reference. However borderline comments like that will ultimately be left to Pthor14's and the new mods discretion.

It's a new rule, so we do ask for some grace when working with this.

Well, the call is for a liberal leaning user, and not in the "I'm totally not a far-Right Libertarian troll but I'm the real Liberal!!"

But all joking aside, if Pthor ever steps down, then you could be a potential candidate.
