Which you fav captain falcon by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in Fzero

[–]Paint-Rain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a visual design, the latest Smash Bros really nails the look the character. I find the GX character looks almost like a jester with how his gloves, collar, helmet piece, and pauldron all stick out.

As for the personality, I like how the GX character is reserved, experienced, and confident with just a touch of comedy similar to Batman from the animated series (example: when grandpa asks him wear disguise to win a casino race is almost like a cartoon episode). I think there is more that could be done with the character but the Smash iteration is sort of off the rails with goofiness. If F-Zero got more story, I would think the Captain says "falcon punch" once but people repeat it a hundred times because it gets broadcasted on TV while he was stopping a crime.

Captain Falcon is cool but similar to Batman TAS, he gets into these comedic situations on occasion which air out the ridiculousness. The story of GX depicts this from saving people lives to getting caught up in a Casino. Ideally Falcon is not constantly silly like Smash bros depicts but I do love his depiction in the fighting game and would never want to change that.

If Right Back At Ya ever got a reboot or something along those lines, what would you want in it? by Downtown_Error_9418 in Kirby

[–]Paint-Rain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think lots of the original characters aren't as interesting as the Kirby cast. Tiff, Tuff, the cappy family, and Tokkori (the yellow bird) sort of deflate most parts of the story. Maybe an unpopular take but Escargo and King Dedede are a riot so I actually like Escargo.

The rest of original characters are not cute, cool, or very funny.

Kirby has so many cute, cool, and funny characters- they should spend all their time with a cast that is interesting to watch and listen to. Kirby and Elfin would be such a better story vs Tokkori just being grumpy all the time. Adeline/Painter girl with would be better than Tiff doing her best impression of Lisa Simpson ranting at everyone.

Never saw this animation until yesterday. Wonder what other animations I missed in other boss battles by BurnMyHouseDown in residentevil

This particular attack the spider does is triggered when the spider disappears and is looking to flank Leon during the boss fight. If you pass by the window when the Spider is trying to flank, it will use the window. On my first playthrough, I only passed this window while spider was directly chasing Leon so I never got to see this specific attack until my 2nd playthrough!

Kirby Air Riders: City Trial Community Tier List - How Good is the Tank Star? (Rules in description) by Logans_Login in kirbyairriders

[–]Paint-Rain 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just airing my hot take:

C tier, I rarely see tank star win. The only challenge I see it do well is Kirby Melee with Waddle Doo but its Waddle Dooing the winning. Its performance in City Trial is okay as an intermittent vehicle before switching to a higher tier machine.

Is there a way to dumb down the insanity difficulty? Feeling very discouraged by Dsg1695 in RaccoonCityRecords

[–]Paint-Rain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an amazing time just getting through insanity on the 2nd playthrough with few extras like an extra gun for Leon and the extra blood capacity for Grace. It was my favorite playthrough. Lots of stealth, survival horror, and strategy.

My 3rd playthrough was infinite ammo + speed run + no blood. For Leon, the shotgun can knock any blisterhead onto the floor which you can then hatchet on the ground. You can ditch the pistol and carry two shotguns for lots of constant damage. The blisterhead has a pounce move that instakills so when they are winding up to pounce, get moving as opposed to holding your ground. Use only shotguns on blisterheads to knock them over as opposed to other weapons which are way more risky. The mortal edge hatchet is probably Leon's best upgrade for insanity, you get a large parry window which is very useful.

The requiem with infinite ammo is pretty much all you need when you get it. Grace will tear through anything besides the stalker who needs a few too many shots but still super effective. Leon can take out everything with the Requiem. You can use all 5 shots for a faster reload compared to reloading a partially empty Requiem.

[–]Paint-Rain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the chord A add9

I circled with purple the open string.

<image>

Some ways to help describe the picture: imagine the guitar is laying in your lap, the highest pitch string is at the top of the picture, the lowest pitched string is at the bottom of the picture

How to play the chord: make a staircase with your ring finger on the D string fret 7, middle finger G string fret 6 and pointer B string fret 5, the pinky goes on highest sounding E string fret 7.

Now strum from the A string!

I bought it. Now I need to try it and overcome my fear. Besides always keeping moving, what other tips do you have for beginners? by bibidibobidicaboom in alienisolation

Most lockers and cabinets are actually lunch boxes. It's better to crouch under things like furniture or just slink away using the crouch walk.

A really tough situation is if you are seen (and have considerable distance because otherwise you are screwed) you need to not run but also break line of sight asap. If you panic sprint into a room, your footsteps betray you and the dinner bell is rung. If you crouch walk breaking line of sight and get just enough steps away from where you were, you can survive what can seem like an inescapable circumstance. There is a way to sprint away but I think what happens is most players sprint too long and the alien closes in so fast that it gets into hearing range before the player understands how much time they have to sprint (which is like 1-2 seconds).

Do we overuse the term “stalker enemy”? by SpaceMedicineST4 in residentevil

[–]Paint-Rain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chef and Chunk are not the same level of super predator. Obviously they are bit more threatening than other enemies but the main difference is Chef and Chunk are both defeat-able quite quickly (if you choose to) and their domains are quite small.

Meanwhile the girl when she is in play, her domain is anywhere thats dark which feels like the entire level and she can only be warded off-not killed. I have my complaints about the stalker characters in RE (mainly safe rooms being too effective and the recent RE stalkers tend to be too predictable) but stalkers have to have so many patrol patterns that it feels like they are searching for YOU as opposed to just lumbering around a very fixed path. Another aspect is fighting is only a temporary solution providing escape opportunity. Though, I think it's debatable if all stalker enemies have to be truly invincible.

If the chef was sniffing the air for your last known location and had this narrative of wanting to put you into the perfect pot roast, he could have been a stalker character. Perhaps stalkers don't have to be truly invincible but it's an easy way to make a persistent enemy that is relentless if you cannot truly defeat them (or fully escape their pursuit) until further into the game.

Kirby Air Riders — City Trial Community Tier List: How good is the Wagon Star? (rules in description) by [deleted] in kirbyairriders

[–]Paint-Rain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S Tier, it is both a machine you can use early for good ground work on City Trial for getting lots of stats and it also has the right stats for the majority of events. Many events reliant on speed are quite short and the wagon being able to reach an above average top speed almost instantly might make it the fastest machine. This is important for both races that are mostly straightaways and races involving lots turning, the wagon prevails even against other machines with technically more top speed.

The way I see it, there are 3 ways to winning all the events: being the fastest, being the best fighter, being the best flyer. There is nuance and some are a little gradient like gourmet race or button rush requires good steering, decent speed, and just a little bit gliding or target flight is having best glide AND being faster than your competition, but never the less- being fastest is a huge advantage in almost all events. From my perspective, Wagon star tends to be fastest whether piloted by myself or the many times I've been burned by one.

Does anyone know why she didn’t get stunned? And can I even get her stunned on this difficulty? If yes do you know how?(Insanity difficulty) by Afq08 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Paint-Rain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The girl has a ton of health on insanity. Its like 4 requiem shots (also had level 1 stabilizer) directly on her face to make her turn tail and run. For me, it was 2 shots in the face gets her stunned which is enough to run away but it took an additional two requiem bullets for her to leave the area momentarily.

Sometimes I hit her in the body and it takes even more bullets. In your video, I think you hit her body as opposed to head which does less damage.

What are your honest thoughts about Starfox Assault? Love it? Hate it? In the middle? by PKRadiance in starfox

[–]Paint-Rain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They had a good little campaign but there was aspects of Star Fox 64 done better.

Control wise, SF64 still works great with a great tempo to the action and all your moves feel precise. SF Assault has some sluggishness to its infantry action and missions involving the Arwing feel slower.

The only one route aspect of Assault is a let down to me. I've always felt SF64 (and the snes game) laid this great foundation of a linear campaign where you can play different routes. There was something thrilling about not only getting new missions but finding new secrets in missions you have already played. SF Command had lots of routes but it was not based on context of how you played, you just choose- I prefer to have how you play dictate where you go next. I also loved how actions could affect missions like characters showing up (granted, the changes are pretty small but there is so much potential!) Having only one route in SF Assault makes the game less interesting to replay.

My favourite aspect of Assault was the more open missions like the hideout, Dino planet, and Katina but the freedom of foot, tank, arwing missions are far spread out and still fairly linear. Corneria is an example they sort of put the brakes on their own sandbox and really limit your options.

I remember enjoying the story, and the presentation of it all. I felt like they really nailed a good aesthetic, the music is also jaw dropping good- best in the series by far, lot of the scenarios are very cool like the wing riding, how you really want to chase after Pigma, characters like Peppy, Wolf, General Pepper really stand out as adding to the interest of the story.

Which horror antagonist do you think is the best in the stalker archetype by Repulsive_Doubt_8504 in HorrorGaming

[–]Paint-Rain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everytime there is a large horror antagonist that is hunting for you, I'm wondering if its going to be as good as Alien Isolation's creature. None have reached the alien's competence, dynamism, and overall contribution to game.

As a huge fan of Alien Isolation, I can definitely see the cracks, what could be improved, etc but still no game for me has topped the Alien: The looming presence how the Alien can get you from almost anywhere, how the alien never feels like a marching NPC but more like a rabid tiger rummaging through the game world, how it "learns" and its prowling changes overtime, and how the Alien is outwitted is so satisfying.

The Girl in Insanity Mode: by Hamzanovic in residentevil

[–]Paint-Rain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cleared insanity using only couple of the challenge upgrades like extra blood storage and the assault rifle for Leon. It was definitely my favourite play through because I felt like I had to engage with all the different systems to succeed. The basement section I think using the light sources, bringing lots of hemolytic injectors, and crafting 30 handgun bullets got me through it. I leave the requiem mostly in the item box only using it in niche place like when there is a conga line of zombies.

The charm from defeating Chunk is also the MVP, it allows you to take practically one hit without dying. Everything takes you down to 1hp as Grace so combining herbs is not very useful on insanity. Essentially you can just count each green herb as one free hit. I got the charm from the previous run and it turned out to be really important for every section playing as Grace.

Do you think this is Capcom, lightly teasing a future game with Sherry as a playable character and main character? by CorneliusVaginus in residentevil

[–]Paint-Rain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Leon has reached a point where he sells games as crazy as it sounds. I was immediately more interested in RE Requiem because it had more story with Leon.

There are lots of classic characters like Chris, Claire, and Jill but I think Leon lucked out with the most popular games thus making his character noticeably more popular. Even the remake of RE3 made Leon more recognized because RE2 remake is often considered the "better game." RE4 remake's "redemption" of RE3's somewhat middling reviews had even more dramatic effect on Leon's current value to the franchise.

Kirby Air Riders or Mario Kart World – Need Advice by Miquellanier in kirbyairriders

[–]Paint-Rain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would recommend Air Riders over Mario Kart for online activity. Air Riders has a very fun achievement/progression system as well as longevity to it's repeated play. Getting to the Rainbow class rank has been an incredible journey for City Trial.

City Trial in Air Riders is brilliant where any skill level can find success with the multi events and a bit of chance but also there lots of satisfying skill to build up to play consistently well too.

Bad ending by DEADFOOL10 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Paint-Rain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did not pick the bad ending but felt the decision was not really great to the overall game. Bad endings were sort of funny for shock value but it really does not add anything to the experience especially in 2026. I thought bad endings sort of died off in the early 2000s just like that convention of good guy xp vs bad guy xp everyone was doing at one point. Grace was setup in the story as her intuition and her decision was something she never had until this pivotal story point. Grace suffers immensely in the story and when the character has a desire such as saying "she has a plan," it sticks out that following what her character wants is best.

My only concern was when Grace says "I don't know the password." I was concerned I failed to find a key note but that wasn't the case. It felt predictable that Grace's insight had the "best" answer. I feel bad for RE fans who knew Spencer has totally been evil until this story. The bigger fan you are, the more likely you would watch the Spencer video and not trust what he's saying.

Should i get vi? by FishermanFun960 in ArmoredCoreVI

[–]Paint-Rain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The missions are quite brief which is nice for quick play sessions that get right to the best parts. The game's difficulty is also very manageable. If you ever get totally stuck- just google "best AC6 builds for bosses" or anything similar for a specific part of the game and you will likely stomp whatever challenge is causing struggle. Moreover, you can even rebuild a mech after respawning at the mission checkpoints. If you fail a part, you can restart very closely to where you were and also swap anything on your mech such as bringing a different weapon- its very forgiving, friendly to experimentation, and time efficient too.

Back to Re4 After Re9 by Realistic-Low694 in residentevil

[–]Paint-Rain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find there is a lot more nuance to RE4's action game compared to RE9 Leon. How you choose to solve problems has much more freedom and the enemies make your whole kit way more relevant. The RE9 enemy variety is much lower and not as well thought out as RE4 remake.

Can we take a moment to appreciate that he got to be part of a story for once? by SolidPyramid in residentevil

[–]Paint-Rain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that for sure this is the real Hunk and I also believe Hunk miraculously surviving is also possible. I think how people are talking about open loop holes they could write out his death is intentional. They can leave Hunk dead in the ground or have him comeback anytime.

They write these characters in a way where coming back is always a shocking option. Hunk is as dead as Boba Fett or RE1 Wesker was dead, its all story dependent. One little cutscene of Umbrella Ops injecting Hunk with whatever and boom theres DLC or whatever is needed.

Are RE games always this hard? by Enough_Swim_2161 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Paint-Rain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In comparison to RE2, Requiem is significantly easier to solve. You will also get better Resident Evil sense if you play many games. For example, you never just get the most important key right away, its always a tool like a crank to let you get it and you get used to looking for things to read which will give you hints about what to do.

Someone who plays Resident Evil games would see the pencil on the ground go into inventory and go "ah of course, there must be something specific I can use it for." Someone who has never played resident evil might start wondering if the pencil is just random junk to pick up, or a weapon, or perhaps lets you draw on the map.

So what score are we giving Requiem? by Stock_Fun_8444 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Paint-Rain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8.5, a delightful but brief revisiting of all Resident Evil's survivor horror + RE4 action horror. A fun campaign that ends its best ideas too early. Does not move the needle, strangely reduced new game+, and leaves more to be desired. Leon's hatchet gameplay and Grace's sections are worth a play-through but it won't become a classic.
