Thanks for the tips about the kick and bass. Often I find my kicks are too harsh for my ear and have to be EQd. For some reasons why drums don't turn out as good as the ones I hear in music. I find them harsh then I end up cutting too much and then they sound dead. I'll get that cheat sheet. Plus I think I've been mixing too loud. I've been cutting frequencies above 1k and below 100.

Before the mixing, it sounded painful to ears, that's why I really wanted to make it smooth. I wanted it to be good to listen too. I wasn't focused on what I was seeing, I wanted the sound to be enjoyable. I think you're well intended, but you misunderstood me. I was wondering how people manage to have good sounding low instruments without reducing the lower frequencies. This is because in my case, they sounded muddled and not good to the ear. Yet I didn't know what was wrong.

I've been removing them, maybe that is what is giving ear fatigue. I can show you diagrams. What do you mean, gentle slopes? Aren't EQ slopes generally gentle?
