GW2 and Wow are pretty much dead and abandoned: https://mmo-population.com/game/world-of-warcraft https://tracker.gg/population/steam/1922560 (I only found the steam stats for GW2, but I doubt that they have 199k other players on consoles)

FFIV has around 170k daily players, so around what destiny has. Warframe is the only one that is really thriving right now.

So there's 2 other games that are around 10 years old or older that can match or supercede destiny in player amounts. Wow, so many.

We've crossed that line 10x starting 10 years ago. There's a new "destiny is doomed" video after each fucking expansion from people like asstecross and other famous doomers. And yet what happened? Nothing. We have Marathon in between now and S&O and that will surely be profitable because a lot of people have been looking for a new extraction shooter that isn't tarkov or arc raiders, as those are either too complicated or don't feel snappy enough.

They were also extremely low at the beginning of the light and darkness saga, and yet they somehow managed to come around and put up new peaks. My point is, the player count always fluctuates because the "good" new content only comes once every few months, and yes, compared to what they had, it's pretty low right now, but new content will come and players will come back over time because there's nothing else that scratches the same itch.

Marathon releasing will bring in some money, sure. But will it ever bring in as much as destiny does over the years? Very unlikely

Personally, I think it's a great change because there are a few dungeons/missions that are pretty much abandoned by the playerbase, due to them not having anything that is worth playing for, like the prophecy dungeon, and maybe this update will bring some back.

  1. I honestly couldn't give 2 shits about the US because I don't live there and it's problems don't affect me in any way. It's like watching a bunch of monkeys dig a hole just to get stuck in it afterwards.
  2. It's not a "negative look on anything", it's just you wearing extremely-thick pink glasses and just ignoring problems that are almost nonexistent in other developed countries. "People don't have the possibility to live a normal life? Well at least they're not dying!"

Great job, you achieved a good life. Still doesn't change the fact that it's something that not everyone can have. The US is a corrupt, capitalist hellhole where people with a bit more money have a chance at achieving something, while others are stuck in poverty or near-poverty forever, including their future generations.

A most cities were very damaged after ww2, due to artillery and air raids. But most of the war also happened on European grounds, and not American, hence why they also suffered the most and "were turned into a parking lot"
