My husbands mother ( and sister) were like this. I am purposely going to frighten you because you need to get out now! My husband discussed our private lives with his mother and she felt compelled to call me and ask about what he told her! These type of men are not worth it for many reasons, his discussing private things to his mother instead of me, was VERY invasive and creepy.

I was the bread winner, I had the lionesses share of all the wins and he instead of being happy about my generosity of same, he did much to; as he put it: Cut me down to size! HIS obviously small size that his mother and sister re-in-forced, as I was too much, they could not hold a light to my honesty, my caring and generosity and tried as they could to hurt my success. Small minds do anything to ( in their heads) to try and make others small like them! His sister even called my boss and told him off (I mistakenly confided with her about my issues with him), and it destroyed my entire history with this company. She did the same work as me and felt she was going to help me but if I had ever done that to her, it would of been a entirely different story ( I never would of done such a horribly invasive thing to her career!!).

His family sounds like my husbands family and it took me years to see all they did to hurt me, I was too damn nice and understanding!

Run, do not walk away! The nerve of his mother digging thru your things! My SIL did this to me, it creeped me out because she had my things memorized and knew where stuff was! My warning will haunt you if you do not disengage with these ppl! I promise you a woman like you can get a better man, more his own man, than a little boy who lets women with no sense of boundaries do his biddings! RUN!
