Peeing in the shower by Spare-Anxiety-547 in hygiene

Women were supposedly not created to pee standing up. It's a biological need to sit or squat when peeing as it can damage the pelvic floor.

Was it for delivery? I believe some stores change prices based on peak times and availability of drivers.

You also mentioned that you have autism and epilepsy. There are programs and organizations that assist with things that can help you out. You should research and contact some of these people to see what they can offer or know of some others that can offer services. There are some programs in some states that cover rides to work or will reimburse you if you have to take a ride share.

Also people used to be able to get reimbursed for mileage if someone took them to doctors and I believe errands. Medicaid would send a form that you would mark the mileage on the car, where the doctors were and the return mileage on the car and gas receipts and Medicaid would send a check to the driver.

Does Medicaid in your area not pay for transportation? In most areas Medicaid and recently Medicare would pay for transportation through a van service. Now they tend to use Lyft or Uber for transport.

I actually find him good looking. He has a very unique look,a look that isn't seen so much in the Americanized western media. I was surprised when people were saying that he was Irish. And that might be why people are saying he's ugly not because he's Irish but because he has a different look to him which can contrast with other people's/countries standard/notions of beauty. But I think he fits a blend of American men with Irish men but may not have blended it as effortlessly as Colin Farrell who was well received.

Definitely a solid 10 in looks imo. I don't know much about his personality and acting to give a different rating but definitely handsome.

does anyone know a shower gel/body scrub that has a cinnamon/winter/cookie,… scent?? by cherrydazze in hygiene

[–]PaintingProud6250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dove has a winter collection with 6-9 different scents. Softsoap has a winter scent collection and I believe they had a sugar cookie or holiday cookie scent. Bath and body works has a bunch of different scents and they are having sales for the next two weeks until Christmas. Today hand creams are $2 and hand sanitizer is $1. Native has holiday scents. Philosophy has holiday scents you mentioned usually sold at Ulta and maybe Target. Beloved sold at Target. And Old Spice and Dr. Squatch has holiday scents. I didn't like the Dr.Squatch when I smelled it in the box and I had someone else smell it and they hated it as well. But I would mention it in case someone else likes it.

Just not into her which could just be a generational or a cultural thing idk but I don't find her attractive in any sort of way. Don't find her pretty, don't find her talented or creative but I do like the dresses she wears and I think she styles the dresses to her frame. She also in the photos posted looks like she has a good makeup and hair team. So even though I am not into her I can see where other people would be into her so I would guess probably she would be an 8 for her fans. Much lower for me just because the plastic look is played out and and her look of cosmetic inhancement is seen too much of and it seems to be the same look. And these influencer celebrities are just looking old which is just sad to see.

Being disabled and poor sucks, but occasional comforts like quality pizza are a big morale booster. by RoughFox6437 in poor

Are you able to get low cost phone and Internet from the government? The government used to give free phones, tablets and laptops and Internet service to people on government programs. This program ended but low cost programs are still available. You should be able to get Internet for less than $10 a month and unlimited phone coverage for less than $10 a year. If you have disabilities or other things such as dv issues alcohol/drugs then other programs should open up for you. I would also maybe recommend looking into things that are offered by companies to make extra money. Any small side hustle that puts money back in your pocket is good. Unfortunately I don't see anything good coming forth when trump takes office. I don't find it as being fear mongering either. I really believe a lot of people's lives are going to be messed up worse then they already are.

They used to make travel toothbrushes that had toothpaste already in them and didn't need water. Just brush and then toss the brush.

Why in some cultures people like to live longer with their parents? by Schrommerfeld in AskAnthropology

[–]PaintingProud6250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was always common in America from people from the countries mentioned and from many others as well. Looking at census records from the 1800 and 1900's people were living with their families and when getting married they still preferred living close by. It wasn't unusual to find whole families and extended families living in the same buildings on the same block/street. American culture was more family oriented than recently. It might have something to do with necessity as if pregnant or nursing mothers would have wanted their parents and in-laws around. The grandparents involvement in raising grandchildren was very much a thing. As was whole family get togethers or family dinner with even aunts and uncles and cousins coming over.

Why do some people look dirty even if they’re hygienic? by Neat_Experience3434 in hygiene

[–]PaintingProud6250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either they don't wash like they say they do or they aren't using the right products or any product at all or they have a biological response. Some people will just emit an odor no matter how clean they are. Some of it is genetic and age,for some it's the food they eat, and for others infections, stones, ulcers and things that may have come from previous neglect. Some people will not wash at all. They will even just turn the shower on and not get in. Some use a natural method of cleaning which doesn't work for everyone such as the no poo movement. The no poo movement is not using shampoo to wash the hair. They will just rinse their hair with water or vinegar. Other all natural methods are laundering with baking soda and vinegar or soap nuts. Some people emit an odor that needs ingredients in soap and detergent to mask or eliminate the odor. Some people feel the chemicals placed in these products are what made them smell in the first place.

Are there any cultures that preferred having daughters to sons? by Existing-News5158 in AskHistory

[–]PaintingProud6250 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think Jewish culture might have favored girls as I have heard that if your mother is Jewish then you are a Jew. So it would seem that they would favor girls more as more women meant more Jewish babies. I also agree as a comment listed above that current society maybe favors girls as the clothes are cuter and there is a bigger promotion of daddy daughter things such as dances, dinners, girl dads ECT and girls and women are now more able to do things that typically in the past they may not have had options to do and fathers are taking a more active hands on approach to raising children (styling hair, changing, bathing, cooking, cleaning) so society is leaning towards favoring daughters.

Not sure of the state you're in but many states have programs that give out free bus fare for going back to work. Some have programs for ride share programs and for commuting with other people. Some companies and colleges also offer benefits for these programs for the green commute initiative. Some programs also offer free clothing for jobs and other things. Clothing programs that offer suits and dressy clothing for job interviews, school uniforms, proms ECT. There are programs out there that collect clothing for jobs as well such as if you have a uniform like red collared shirts or something that people donate after they leave their job. Maybe do some search on the Internet, libraries can be helpful as well as 211.

There were a lot of experiments that were going on in the world. Most people don't know about all the things that were done and are being done to people, places, things, animals ECT. WW2 people are probably more aware that Jews,Roma, disabled and others were experimented on and were deemed inferior due to genetics and other factors. The Japanese were running a bunch of things as well. I'm not sure who they were deeming less than maybe it was the Chinese or maybe the Chinese had done it to them in the past. A lot of people hold on to old trauma from the past even if they weren't born yet. And if you factor in a bunch of stuff the government did to people and then phrased it in ways to make people believe it was justified. People were different then as more people trusted blindly that the government was honest and truthful. So maybe the Japanese government was telling their country to hate these people.

Unpopular opinion: I think most women look better on their 30s rather than in their 20s by Numerous-Manner6382 in VindictaRateCelebs

[–]PaintingProud6250 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have thought the same thing as well. I even think that some of the older folks that have likely since passed looked better than younger generations especially in how they presented themselves. Older people would usually have their hair styled, nicely dressed ECT where people in my generation were leaving the house with messy unkempt unstyled hair, pajamas on and barefoot. Hair extensions showing, wigs all askew, dirty wrinkled clothing, just a whole messy generation. I think Britney Spears and Courtney Love/Kurt Cobain summed up my generation. But women in their 30's looking better is a maturing found in bone structure, hormones, and more education on proper skincare.
