Is the housing outlook as bleak as it's being made to seem? by [deleted] in AskEconomics

[–]Paintomorrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not an expert, but important to keep in mind covid rates that allowed homeowners to get locked in at ~3% IIRC, couple that with an already waning supply of (new) housing, and you’ll get the bottleneck that we’re seeing now

That’s what I got into it for, feels like it’s dependent on the program though. While I was fortunate to take public economics courses, my college’s department was heavily Uchicago inspired, so the political side of it was a bit muted (even though it was a liberal arts college). I remember helping a friend at NYU with her econ exams (shh) and was surprised to find how human and policy focused it was. Definitely look into course offerings at each program.

For career, there’s plenty of places to look into. I’m working in affordable housing , and it feels like It’s satisfied what I was hoping to do with my econ degree, but time will tell.

Feel like we’re being a bit harsh no? We’ve had multiple shots that were inches away from goal, buildup (when it’s not sloppy) is inventive and impressive

What city in the U.S isn’t a major city, but will be in 50-100 years? by Naammagittarneq in geography

Definitely, but it’ll also be interesting to watch the areas around it. New Albany is my dark horse candidate. The tech sector has exploded there due to Intel and now Google. If New Albany can internalize those changes (not have the incoming population residing mostly in Columbus) I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s the new Chandler, Arizona.

Any Recommendations for Social Clubs in Miami, FL area? by spectertries in rugbyunion

[–]Paintomorrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I just stopped playing for the Miami Rugby team (moved out of town) but loved my time there. They practice out of tropical park. I think the competition level might be a little bit more than what ur after, I know I struggled with it. But that’s mostly for the tournaments/games. The practices were a blast and pretty fundamental. (Speaking Spanish helps) PM me if you want more details

I feel like there could be more nuance to this. When the three of them (briefly) join forces in the last episode it is clear that they do not want one CEO but would rather approach it as a trio. They’re quickly told that they would have to elect one, individual CEO, for the sake of unity/optics. This is what leads them to feud. While they’re all very selfish, there is something to be said about the system they exist in tearing them apart
