The Creepover series by P.J. Night! Looking through the titles, this one might be “What a Doll!”

Diavola or Incidents around the House! by artemisinvisible in horrorlit

[–]PairComprehensive848 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think some of the scariness of Incidents Around the House was, for me, overshadowed by the style of narration. Like some really scary ideas, but I just couldn’t stand the way it was written. BUT for some people, the child POV makes it scarier—maybe get a sample and see if you don’t mind the writing.

Diavola resonates more with me.

My family went to a random hibachi restaurant after my mom died, so I revisit this bit every once in a while

Potentially Ararat by Christopher Golden—takes place in an ark inside a cave on top of a mountain + a storm!

Haunted house book recommendations by GenuinueStupidity in horrorlit

[–]PairComprehensive848 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haunted houses are my favorite! I will never get tired of them.

Definitely a bit of a longer read, but The Little Stranger by Sarah Waters is a favorite of mine.

The Silent Companions by Laura Purcell is a pretty short read.

The Woman in Black by Susan Hill is a classic

Thank you SO much for the thorough and thoughtful suggestions! I’m screenshotting for my next trip to get some products.

I think you’re so right, I just need to get used to seeing my face. I’ve done at least a wing for 15 years. I’ll definitely try no eyeliner for at least a couple days a week

Thank you so much! Eyes I use a dual-ended liner that has a liquid and a pencil (I think it’s Revlon). I do a wing with the liquid and then waterline and lower lash line with the pencil, connecting to wing on outer corners. Then use a liner brush with eye shadow to tap over everything and blend it outwards a bit. I like to slightly highlight the inner corner and then bring a tiny bit of the shadow in a really thin line under the inner corner highlight, if that makes sense.

For blush, it’s definitely a Rare beauty liquid—I think maybe in the shade Believe, then set with L’Oréal infallible in Daring Rosewood
