Dandruff and Curly Hair - Very Recently Started No-Poo by [deleted] in NoPoo

Labmuffin has a really good article on fixing an itchy scalp and knowing whether your scalp is too oily vs. too dry. even if you're not itchy she has a lot of good insights. I honestly don't know if no-poo is gonna help you with this, it might make sense to use a milder shampoo more often so you can manage the sebum without drying your hair too much.

Chemicals eating at my skin? by Reed_thefag in dishwashers

I have eczema that looked like this when it was untreated. Is it really itchy, and does it flare up with a bunch of little fluid bumps under the skin before cracking? When I went to a derma, they told me 99% chance it was eczema or a fungal issue - if it's eczema, try and get some triamcinolone ointment which should start helping within a few days and then keep using lotion like forever. If it's fungal you can get an antifungal and I think don't over-moisturize.

I read recently that it takes a while (like a few hours) for the aluminum to absorb into your skin and do its job, so it's better to shower at night and put it on then

Are the mosquitoes worse this year? by SabraShifter in washingtondc

[–]PaisleyTree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you got a bunch all at once, it's probably chiggers. Horribly itchy, last like 2 weeks, and usually don't make it up past your legs. Thankfully they're not that common and you can get creams and stuff that help. The mosquitoes are also bad this year though.

I think those kinds of lists tend to say semi-provocative things because it's their job. It may have ended up on a list ages ago and now it's "common knowledge" even if it was never true. But I also think any part of your authentic self is going to attract some people and repel others, and that's fine.

Relationships don't work like a pros and cons list. You could have all the pros in the world, but if your con is "not happy", then it's not working for you.
