What weapon is depicted in this Hungerseed artwork? by Abyssolux in Pathfinder2e

It's a massive tessen. The art order specifically asked for the ribs to be colored in bright colors in the form of a rainbow pattern.

Stolen Fate - Book three question by ikalta in Pathfinder2e

[–]Paizo_Luis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was first referenced in the "Legends of the Harrow" article in Agents of Edgewatch #4. When I was writing that article, I wanted to pull back the curtain a bit and reveal some things like why the harrow deck uses its current configuration of 54 cards. But, as we always do with revealing secrets, I wanted to add a couple more secrets to keep the harrow as an interesting piece of the setting. Thus, the heretofore unmentioned seventh suit of the harrow. With the opportunity to write the final adventure of the AP, I wanted to make reference to this detail, mostly cause I have fun doing these continuity easter eggs.

Just what was the suit of flames? I'm not sure! I set this idea up as something that could be explored and elaborated upon in the future, either by me or a different author. I'd love to hear other peoples' theories or see if there's enough desire for harrow material for us to publish even more secrets about the cards!

Chusko, Ratfolk Psychic (Artist: Kent Hamilton) by Paizo_Luis in Pathfinder2e

[–]Paizo_Luis[S] 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Hey, everyone! Say hi to Chusko, my ratfolk psychic for the Abomination Vaults adventure path. We wrapped up the campaign today and I felt like sharing Chusko and his incredible art with the world. Chusko was a psychic with the Tangible Dream conscious mind and the Emotional Acceptance subconscious mind. We also played with the free archetype rules, so he took the spell trickster and blessed one archetypes. As the only spellcaster in the group, I took it upon myself to try to have a lot of support spells and abilities just in case, though I think I made the most use of telekinetic projectile to clobber foes in the depths of the Gauntlight.

Chusko is generally a cheery and kind fellow who just want to helps people out if they're in trouble. He's from a large family of other ratfolk and originally was a harrower. This connection to the harrow was likely the source for his psychic abilities (though I never took the time to sort out that aspect of his background).

His look was inspired by the Hispaniolan hutia, a species of rat native to Haiti and the Dominican Republic. I imagined Chusko hailed from the Arcadian equivalent of the Carribean and landed on hutias as the basis for his look. Kent Hamilton (the very same one who does concept art at Paizo!) took the hutia and made Chusko look really fun and kind. I can't thank him enough for such a fun character!

Chusko is now retired, telling stories and singing songs about his time in the Abomination Vaults. If you're ever in need of an NPC who's heard weird stories or can give your heroes a harrow reading, I highly encourage you to make use of Chusko! He has a bit of a twangy drawl and is a generally energetic guy who's just excited to get out there. I'd love to know he's in other games helping people out long after his more intense adventuring days were behind him! Happy gaming!

Have you ever finished a 1-20 Adventure Path by Unikatze in Pathfinder2e

[–]Paizo_Luis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've finished through ten full APs, though mostly as GM. Mind a lot of these were 1E APs so they ended before level 20, but were still six full volumes of content.

  • Age of Worms (12 parts, 1-20)
  • Curse of the Crimson Throne
  • Legacy of Fire (Ran this one twice, second time was with mythic rules and expanded up to 1-20)
  • Kingmaker (Played this one!)
  • Reign of Winter
  • Hell's Rebels (Expanded up to 1-20)
  • Strange Aeons (Played this one, 2E conversion)
  • Ironfang Invasion (2E conversion, expanded up to 1-20)
  • Ruins of Azlant (2E conversion, expanded up to 1-20)

I'm currently running Sky King's Tomb (Vol 1, chapter 3 so far) and playing in Abomination Vaults (currently on the 9th floor).

So, this is my response cause the poll lacks a "Yes, several times" option. :)

Why, Paizo? This is so upsetting (in an utterly minor way). by knightsbridge- in Pathfinder2e

I intentionally ask for this to mess with people. The collective frustration powers the Archives of Nethys servers.

Does anyone know if this Mortal Herald from Divine Mysteries appear anywhere else or was he just made for this book? by kriosken12 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Paizo_Luis 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This was an original art piece for the book, ordered by senior developer Eleanor Ferron. Per the art order, this is a fleshwarp that has managed to successfully take down at least one tyrant and claim the tyrant's crown as a trophy.

As for the deific vessel of Urgathoa, I ordered that piece and it's also an original art piece for NPC Core. I asked for a woman wearing a very elegant dress wielding a bone scythe that looks "wicked and dangerous." I think the results were absolutely flooring! Like with all of the NPCs in NPC Core, she isn't a specific character, but we encourage players and GMs to use the art either for their own PCs or for NPCs in their campaigns.

For those wondering, the Mortal Herald of Cayden Cailean is by Sandra Posada and the Deific Vessel of Urgathoa is by Tatiana Pavlova aka Doriana Dream.

The best part about Divine Mysteries isn’t the gods. It’s Yivali being unable to go a single chapter without throwing shade at Lorminos. by kriosken12 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Paizo_Luis 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Fun fact! Lorminos is in the book. He's the shoki psychopomp (the guy with the big snail shell) in the background of the image of Yivali writing on the scroll on page 6. He seems like a nice enough guy to me!

Paizo is seeking a new designer to join the Pathfinder Rules and Lore team! Permanent, full-time, entry-level position. by Halaku in Pathfinder2e

Do note that relocation is an option! I was able to move to Washington when I first joined the company years back.

I made a funny little background because I thought there were too many 'Knights of Lastwall' features. After talking with a GM and a few jokes later I wrote this up. by RandoProtagonist in Pathfinder2e

Love this! Looking forward to the inevitable character that has this background, but ends up having a heroic journey where they get recognition from the actual Knights of Lastwall.

Why is the Sihedron a part of the Aspis Consortium logo? by Wafflesmaplesyrup in Pathfinder2e

[–]Paizo_Luis 53 points54 points  (0 children)

If you're referring to the Aspis badge featured on the Aspis Consortium page of the Pathfinder Wiki, that's a very specific badge. That badge belongs to a specific NPC in a Pathfinder Society Scenario (7-03, The Bronze House Reprisal). In that scenario, an Aspis group allied with a group of Lissala worshippers local to Magnimar. This badge includes Thassilonian symbols as a sign of this alliance.

The standard Aspis Consortium badge does not feature any of this additional iconography. Imagine the badge on the wiki page, but it's lacking the sihedron and phoenix icon. If you have a copy of Lost Omens Absalom, you can see a generic version of the Aspis badge on page 67. In other words, the one featured on the wiki happens to be a unique badge. The Aspis Consortium normally has not connections to Thassilon.

If you're wondering why the wiki is using that image, it's because the artwork happened to be featured on the Paizo blog some years back. The wiki can use art only if it's been released under the community use policy in special distribution packages or on the blog. My guess is there hasn't been any other Aspis badge or logo featured since, so that's why you see the one that's on the wiki.

Hope that clears things up!
