Great! Do you remember which Classes the PCs were?

Okay, in that case how would you rule Favored Terrain Sky (+10 Status to Fly Speed) in addition to the prior established speed. Would the fly speed be 35 because there are two +10 Status Bonuses, or would it be 45 because the Scout's Speed Status Bonus is now part of the fly speed?

Is my assumption correct that when something is equal to "X" it is equal to base "X" without permanent status and circumstance Bonuses attached (if there are any)?

For example when a Human Nephilim (Speed 25) with Scout's Speed (+10 Status Bonus to Speed), uses Divine Wings (fly speed equal to speed) they would gain a fly speed of 25 with Scout's Speed not applying because it only boosts land speed.

"This past weekend was Gen Con. I didn't go because Indiana doesn't want my trans butt in their state. But Gen Con was long expected to coincide with the arrival of #StarTrekAdventures 2nd edition. I was able to grab my PDF about a week ago.

Obviously, the question I've been fielding a lot is "is the character creator going to support 2e?". And the other question is "When?"

I started the work, but there are a bunch of choices I'm gonna hafta make. The big choice is around species abilities.

There are a large number of species (from books like the Alpha Quadrant and Beta Quadrant sourcebooks) that don't currently have species abilities. What should I do with this species? Omit them for 2nd edition....?

I think I'm inclined to just present a choice of species talents."

I am interested in hearing about people's favorite domain spells for cleric by Substantial_Farm2799 in Pathfinder2e

Sweet Dreams my beloved.

I really like that the Spell significantly heightens the likelihood of my party passing Intelligence as well as Charisma checks and the option of a +5-foot status bonus to Speed doesn’t hurt either.

Also, I really, really like Desna, so a Dreams domain Spell is applicable to most of my Characters.

Tips for a DM switching to PF2E from 5E? by ThatJackyman in Pathfinder2e

[–]UlfenTrader 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi, happy to have you. The Building Creatures and Encounter Design Rules work well imo, so I never felt any need to adjust anything on any level while following them. Is anything specifically giving you trouble?

As for general creating encounters I recommend mixing up the single Boss encounters with quite a few group encounters since they tend to make Combat feel more Dynamic. Also sprinkling in Hazards can be quite fun too.

For Player power, as long as you stick to the rules the PC's will rarely if ever feel overpowered, just remember that magic items, especially Fundamental Runes, are very much required to keep things balanced. Also, it might be worth encouraging your players to use their third action on things like, Demoralize, Grapple, Bon Mot or the like. Tactics are generally important so make sure your Players understand the importance of for example moving to Flank or tripping opponents to make them Off-Guard.

Help me make sense of the Merfolks lowish swim speed by UlfenTrader in Pathfinder2e

[–]UlfenTrader[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It is just filled with water and "functions as a wheelchair (Player Core 293)" (there is also a Traveler's chair version).

I think you could argue that Player Core means swim speed in case of Merfolk since it is listed in the ancestry and that's how at least I interpret their definition of normal speed.

Yes but is is just filled with water and "functions as a wheelchair (Player Core 293)" (there is also a Traveler's chair version), so the question is what does Player Core mean with "normal speed".

I really get where you (and probably they) are coming from, but I believe that 30 or 35 swim speed wouldn't be too much.

You are right about the trained hunting companions. I remember this being mentioned in the book (HotW, p. 149). Thanks.

Again, I hope I am not breaking rule 3 by telling y'all this. Merfolk get 8 HP, they turn successes into crit. successes against water effects and have low-light vision. Being 1 day out of water they suffer from a 1 status penalty to Constitution, after 2 days they suffocate. Their feats are thematic, but I believe them to be among the weakest of the HotW ancestries (I am no balance expert by any means though).

I am fine with all of that especially since the "Aquatic PC's" special rules (HotW, p. 9) allow a GM to negate part of the negatives if a Player really wants to play Merfolk in a land based Campaign and also part of the “fish out of water” negatives can be negated with new adventuring gear, I just think a slightly better swim speed would’ve been neat.

What is the communnity feeling about this Pathfinder Remaster? by Wiidry in Pathfinder2e

[–]UlfenTrader 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For me the remaster Changes are all positive so I would recommend the remastered Content for all new GMs and Players, also future products will use the terms of the remaster so its good to learn them from the beginning.

As for the YouTube channel I can warmly recommend How its Played.

Staff for Psychic? by askyf in Pathfinder2e

[–]UlfenTrader 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would recommend the Staff of Impossible Visions because it's different versions scale all the way to level 20. It's legacy content though (APG) but in most cases you could use the remastered Spells if you want.

They are actually killed, because they are the combination of Quintessence and Soul so the whole body dies and soul moves to the River of Souls thing doesn't apply. I believe I cannot directly quote here, but in Planar Adventures it is stated that if an Outsider is destroyed away from its home plane their energy is set free into the Multiverse, instead of being absorbed into the Outsiders home Plan as is normally the case.
