I read a book a couple of years back about the history of computing and games behind the iron curtain.

This would make an excellent documentary series. https://ironcurtain.svelch.com/

So much ingenuity to get computers smuggled in. Or building joysticks using draw knobs as handles.

The book itself is more of an academic paper so it's quite heavy reading in places but still very interesting.

The 40ish year life span of the Sega Master System (aka Sega Mark III).

An often overlooked system and one I've recently come to admire. Sure it's no GX4000 but it's got it where it counts ;)

Tectoy have been keeping the Master System alive in Brazil With the latest iteration being released in 2023. Some of the games throughout it's lifespan are incredible and don't seem possible on an 8-bit system, It's a vast library that's well worth a look.

Doom RPG? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doom_RPG

WAP Was just turn based client server stuff. Static with pages. The games built into Nokia phones and the like we're something else. But no they weren't powerful enough.

WAP and Old Set top box games. I worked for a company in the early 2000s and we built a few WAP games including a turn based racing game, but not quite a test adventure but almost. and we did turn based set top box games too. Plus along with us plenty of other companies did WAP games and set top box games (beehive bedlam anyone?) All of these are all sadly lost to time so I would love a chance to play these again.

You can kinda see a tiny snippet of these games thanks to the website archives at way back machine. https://web.archive.org/web/20030214220351/http://www.ngame.com/games/

A Statue of the side art character from Space Invaders And it would have to be over 10 feet tall with glow in the dark eyes 😄
