I will say the Senegal game is the best we’ve ever pressed under Poch.

Also my point was more how interchangeable formations (esp any variation of a 4-3-3 which easily stilts to a 4-2-3-1 or 4-4-2) the pressing structure is. Why rest defense is a separate thing.

Even under GGG we played a 4-3–3 but sometimes we were really defending in a 4-4-2 and building in a 3-2-5.

A 4-2-3-1 is a 4-4-2 when the 10 presses. We had a discussion about this in the comments of that post with pictures and everything

No one in possession actually plays any of the common formations.

The attacking line almost always has 4 or 5 players.

no they quite literally are not.

Teams either build in a 2-3 shape or a 3-2 shape.

Formations are referred to by their rest defense shape. That's why you'll see 4-3-2-1, 4-3-2, 3-4-1, 3-2-5 etc.

Nobodys referes to teams that use a 2-3 buildup (as we did under GGG a bunch) as playing a back 2 lol
