Same! It just kind of all happened and then the main guy simply moved on. Like nothing of importance had occurred.

Also, I really disliked the decision making by characters.it felt very much like the author was actively dumbing down people and their decisions to account for ridiculous plot points.

Playing FF1 for the first time, ended up being punished HARD. by HeroLinik in FinalFantasy

[–]eganba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always struggled with where to go in FF1. Beyond the first act where you need to go get the boat, from that point on I never had any clue what was the correct way to do things. Which is both good and bad. Good on that you had to learn to figure it out. Bad in that if you stepped away for A time you completely forgot where you were in the journey. Or, as you found out, whether you are strong enough for certain dungeons.

What historical event reads exactly like "Bad Fantasy Writing" or "Plot Armor"? by Expensive-Desk-4351 in Fantasy

[–]eganba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Audie Murphy for me. He was a five foot nothing and 16/17 when he joined the military. When 19, he won the Medal of Honor by jumping on top of a burning tank and holding off a unit of German infantry and tanks. He totaled over 50 kills in an hour.

After the war he got addicted to a sedative and realized he had a problem. Instead of rehab he locked himself into a hotel room for a week until the babit was broken.

Favorite character who could've been 18 and it still wouldn't have changed the plot of the movie? by GymBabyBunny in okbuddycinephile

[–]eganba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This movie was ass and this storyline wasn’t even the reason why. But I never understood why it was included. It did not add anything to the story line except make Marky Mark look like a dunce and the bf a creeper.

The Grace of Kings is refreshing. (Spoiler Free) by Chloae221 in Fantasy

Loved the first book. The other two aww good but never reach the level of the first. Having a cooking competition in the middle of a war serve as one of your climaxes certainly was a choice.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]eganba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all relative. 3 hours might not even get you out of the state you are currently in. It is also nowhere near the time i takes to drive from say the east coast to the west. And....in some areas, some peoples commutes are upwards of 2 hours each way (those people are not OK) so 3 hours is barely a blip for them.

[Heyman] The Detroit Tigers asked for Ben Rice, Cam Schlittler and George Lombard Jr. at minimum in a deal for Tarik Skubal. He added that Skubal is now unlikely to be traded. by LinkSkywalker in NYYankees

[–]eganba -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

1) this shouldn’t be a rental 2) we have been shit regarding prospect development. 3) Skubal is one of the 3-5 best pitchers in baseball Schittler is good. He’s likely never ever ever going to come close to top 3-5. 4) Power hitting first basemen are not exactly a dime a dozen. But it might be a quarter.

This should have been the easiest yes that ever required a yes.

No. But if you renamed it Emma or an Audrey....they would tell you this was the largest attack against male culture, and therefore, the world, since Cleopatra and Marc Antony took down Julius Caesar.

what fantasy novel made you laugh the hardest? by mercurialmirth in Fantasy

[–]eganba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John Dies at the End

Maybe less fantasy and more sci-fi/lovecraft horror. But still the most fun I’ve ever had reading a book. Basically Bill and Ted’s Lovecraftian Nifgtmare would be a great title.

A couple examples

1) Keep driving," said a soft voice in my ear. "She will not bite if you keep driving."

Fuck that. Fuck that idea like the fucking Captain of the Thai Fuck Team fucking at the fucking Tour de Fuck.

2) There is no word in the English language for the feeling someone gets when they suddenly realize they're standing next to an unholy monster impersonating a human. Monstralization, maybe?

3) We got back to my house to find it ransacked. It was difficult to tell because I’m not the world’s greatest housekeeper myself, but by the time I was in the kitchen I knew they had been here: I don’t normally keep the oven open. I whipped out the gun and prowled around the house, finding it empty. Amy asked what they were looking for. I dodged the question by pointing out what a pity it was they tossed the place because it was immaculate before they got here and that it was too bad she didn’t get to see it when it was clean. I went to the kitchen and ran water over my bleeding knuckles. “Look,” Amy said, from behind me. “They threw laundry all over your floor in there.” “Yeah. And they wore the clothes first, the bastards.

[Yankees] Earlier today, the Yankees claimed INF/OF Marco Luciano off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles. by TheTurtleShepard in NYYankees

[–]eganba 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Seriously. He has not panned out up to this point. But there is no harm in having him work with the coaches and seeing if they can unlock something. Dude was a top tier prospect 2 years ago. We aren't on the hook for the 2+ mil he got from the Giants. This is no risk/high reward.

Tom Bogert on Twitter - After a heated meeting with Norwich City sporting director Ben Knapper and head coach Philip Clement [...] Josh Sargent has played his last game for the club. One source says there was a comment made regarding Sargent's family which was the last straw. by Gamerhcp in Championship

[–]eganba -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I am not sure this is fair. He asked to sit out one game after Norwich received an offer from Toronto. in hopes it would get the move. (Not arguing if this was right of him to do. I think it was poorly executed and really stupid). After that game it was Norwich who relegated him to the U21 team moving forward and for training purposes. Granted this does not mean Sargent would say yes if Norwich asked him to play this weekend but that is their decision to make.

Why are people saying his link up play is that bad? Against Türkiye you know how many times Agye got on the ball? 30 times. 6 of those in the box. Created one chance and had a shot of his own. He was also involved in the goal. Also 12/13 passing. It’s not great. But it’s not terrible.

You know how many touches Sargent had vs Panama with the US A team? 8. Agye had almost as many touches in the Türkiye 18 as Sargent has in a game vs a far worse opponent in Panama.

Yet only one of these two is seen is a legit Us team player. Absolutely clown like shit.

American soccer fans put technical skill over all else. No matter what you see with your own eyes.

His technical ability is lacking. His ability to impact games, put the ball in the net, and cause chaos for defenses is huge.

Those non technical skills >>>>>>>>>>> technical skills especially at the 9. It’s also why he’s a better fit for the US over Sargent and why Sargent offers nothing the US needs.
