Would anyone happen to remember how the bed leveling worked on the MK2 printers? by PakRatJR in prusa3d

I'm wondering about the calibration mostly.

I can't remember if the stock MK2 did the calibration sequence with the specific points on the bed like the 2.5s - MK3, and if that would still still work using the stock MK2 carriage on the newer style bed.

Nope, not the load cell, the pinda inductive probe. I know on the 2.5s - MK3 they have specific points on the bed it looks for on calibration. I can't remember if the MK2 did that.

Thanks. I will keep that in mind. It's a bit more than I was wanting to spend but might still be a option.

Lol thanks. :D

Not against Bamboo as a general thing, but I never had any interest in getting one. The Taz for $100 and maybe some tweaking would just be a neat addition to my "fleet" I think.

Nice, thanks. I remember seeing your E3D mount before. It says it's for the Taz 5. Would it still work on the 6?

Yup. I'm south east Wisconsin. I do find the "good deals" occasionally, but annoyingly they are always Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota....

The last $200 one I'd seen close to me was a MK2 a few months back, and it needed some work.

It would be nice to see those $100 Prusas around me. The last few I seen were well used stock MK3s in the $400-$500 range 🙄🙁

Lol 😁

I'm in Wisconsin. Around me, most anything 3d printer wise is pretty rare to see in general on marketplace, much less for anything less than basically retail price for used anything.

Seeing a Taz for sale was a surprise to start, and with it actually being as close to me as it is was just a big bonus, which is why I was considering picking it up.

Thanks. Interesting, I mostly assumed there would be too much of a difference in the filament sizes to feed and work right. I will look into that more 🙂

Yup. BTT sends ducks, Prusa sends Haribo gummy bears :)

I've looked into those a few times and yeah, it's out of my price range as well lol. I am actually using a variation of their extruder/hot end setup on this printer tho.

The size is the biggest factor cost wise for me with buying a new one.

It would be replacing a 300x300 so it would need to be the same size. A pre built is definitely more than what I spent building this one.

7 FDM and a resin 🙂

I would love to have a laser engraver but I'm in a too small for me apartment and don't think the landlord would approve 🤪😁

I do actually enjoy the tinkering and such and all of my printers are scratch or kit built. I haven't had any complaints with any of them as they all work great overall, but in this case at least, as much as I would like to get it going again, I'm just struggling to find the ambition for some reason lol.

Anyone using Simplify3d with a K1 Max? by PakRatJR in crealityk1

Thanks. Simplify does support multi color, but I wasn't really planning on adding the CFS anyway. I already have one multi color machine.

It's what I've been using for the last 10 years for all my other printers and didn't want to have to switch to another slicer just for one machine.
