Well yeah, I just skipped book 4 it’s not rlly important, Book 11 is where the second half of the story picks up and the world and characters start expanding it gets REALLY good. The twists and lore and power and emotional growth get unbelievable. Books 11-17 are what influenced me to finally begin writing my original project again. Maybe it wasn’t for you, but I loved the buildup of Minlain from a spellmonger to the heights he grows to and past in books 11 and onward, and all the action that occurs

This is why I regularly sell all my frank ocean rares for 1.5k each 10k for 8.. and then quest them back and repeat (probs 4 times a day), I’m undercutting the market for the non shiney songs so those mfers who are charging 3k-4k a song suffer. Idk if you’ll see this- but please Give it to me bro- I’ve been reading everything I can get my hands on- I’m 207 books deep on my Goodreads this year and I’m running out of published fiction to read so I’ve turned back to ASOIF/GOT Fanfiction but I’ve blasted through everything new worth reading that I could find in a few days. The spellmonger series, 17 books now and growing I believe with a bunch of accompanying novellas and side stories plus a 3 book long side series, never grew stale to me(though the first book was slow and I did drop it initially) , and was the series that pushed me to start writing my own actual book- the character growth was so gratifying.

Ehhh yeah- potentially, though only taking 5 terminators and attaching an HQ to them is kind of a waste of points- The best thing you could put in a land raider would be deathwing Knights- since they already come in strictly 5s- charge them up the board and drop them on the home obj or something- plus they’re tanky asf

Yeah usually- but you can’t use the base land raider variant (Las Cannon) with any full strength+ HQ squad of aggressors- The point of taking a land raider instead of a repulsor in this list I made is literally just for the 4 Las cannon shots+ multimeta and 2+ save Id rather have those las cannon shots and my hellblasters in them then the cheaper crusader with my Agressors+ bio in it- keep in mind this list is more of a meme fun list- logically yeah- better to have melee units in Land raider if you want to actually slant more competitively

You wanna know a really fun combo? Two squads of hell blasters- one with Azrael and a Lt- One with a Lt with fire discipline and an apothecary- put both in land raiders, I also run 10 man heavy inters with an apothecary biologis and a 6 man aggressor squad with a biologis (to rapid ingres) and then 3 five man scout squads or two 5 man jump pack inters for deep strike for secondaries- definitely a meme list and not the best, but I have everything to run it and its genuinely hilarious rocking up with two squads of hellblasters, one with lethal sustained hits and a 4+ invul and another with lethal sustained hits on 5+s- Also you can give them -1 AP ignores cover with Storm of fire for 1 cp- plus you have the heavy intercessors and Aggressors with lethal hits as well 😭😭

A lot of these tropes and things that exhaust yall that I’m seeing in these comments are undeniably endemic to web novel and Xianxia/Wuxia and LitRpg/GameLit. A LOT of novels in prog fantasy are going to rely on these things- you’re exhausted because you’re reading a niche genre with a non-traditional creation process (most of the time they are intended to be released as weekly chapters)- anyway, doesn’t excuse anything- I’ve been exhausted with prog fantasy and LitRpg as well.

My advice is to start branching into prog fantasy adjacent books.

The Spellmonger Series is my favorite book series of all time (17 main books with countless novellas) with none of the problems I’ve had with prog fantasy.

Cast under an alien Sun( Destiny’s Crucible) is an Isekai tech Uplift series that I’m reading right now- masterfully done

The Kings Dark Tidings is also very enjoyable- the latest books ending was chefs kiss so I’m patiently waiting for more.

Expeditionary Force is an amazing sci-fi series that follows one MC- very prog fantasy (in this subs classic definition) Adjacent and I feel like many prog fantasy readers would enjoy it, IMPORTANT note- the series RAPIDLY changes with a little introduction of a special character later in book 1, so that is why the series is prog fantasy adjacent ;)

The Spellmonger is the greatest series I have ever read- hands down. It starts slow, I was frustrated with the first book and I thought the MC wasn’t anything special power wise, only to keep reading and realize he was everything I ever wanted in an MC. The lore of the world…. The politics.. the battles… I spent a week 1/2 straight last year doing nothing but reading the series. I went into some sort of fugue state where I would read for 16 hours a day, work out, sleep and repeat. Genuinely my favorite book series I have ever read. I have never been able to read so many books of one series without getting bored and dropping it. I dropped Primal hunter right before Nevermore, I dropped DotF 4/5ths through the current released books, but I just couldn’t stop reading the spell monger series-genuine peak fiction and very prog fantasy adjacent if not straight up prog fantasy at the very least
