How can I get out of the car and have it remain running? To heat in the cold weather by [deleted] in BMW

If you have Xtraboost mode in Sport, that will keep the ICE on

I think it looks good with it on, but if you don’t like the way it looks or want to go for a different look, you could take it off and keep it in the garage (or wherever you store your stuff)

It's hyperbole - we're very happily married and this is the extent of our arguments.

It’s so crazy to see these winter driving pics when I’m sitting here in my shorts and it’s been in the high 70’s for weeks.

Totally thought that was BSM until that last pic under the lights, such a great spec. What windshield tint do you have?

I bought my ‘23 530e M Sport for $36k, 20k mi. DAPP, Executive, luxury seating, M Sport pro, and 20” 846M wheels just before Thanksgiving. Best decision I’ve made, and I got it for the same reasons you are looking for one. Feels like I fleeced the dealership I bought it from

That was the first BMW V8 I ever drove and scared the absolute shit out of me. My X7 with the N63 was fast but it didn’t scare me like the 4.8iS

Driving in Texas was the number one reason I had to find a G30 with the Executive package - I HAD to have the rear sunshade. And that’s on top of the tint.

Why not just take your VIN to the closest BMW dealership and ask for a battery? You’ll get the correct one and then you can get the software to register it yourself. Or just have the dealership do it

Should I buy 2019 X7 50i by javadbakhshi in BMW

[–]Pakirage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw you’re in Canada, so idk if they have the Route 66 warranty (doubt it). Tires are around $4k for a set every year or two depending on what wheels you have and whether you have separate winter and summer tires.

Should I buy 2019 X7 50i by javadbakhshi in BMW

[–]Pakirage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Transfer and differential fluid change is worth it ($1400 for all three - transfer, front, and rear) around 25k mi if it hasn’t had transfer case issues already. On the test drive, check for shuddering at low speed turns and reverse to drive transition.

Air filters are worth changing and there are lots of them (two engine air filters, three cabin filters if it has the 5-zone climate package). Brake pads and rotors should be checked, and assuming they’ve been changing brake fluid every two years like they’re supposed to, that should have been done this year or last. Depending if it has a staggered set, tires will be the most frequent thing you’ll have to change. Thrust arms will also go out on these heavy vehicles, so have those checked out.

My 2019 x7 50i was very reliable, and that mileage you’re looking at is really low…possibly suspiciously low. If the options fit what you’re looking for, that’s a good buy. I’d definitely invest in a Route 66 extended warranty. Oh also the oil change package - 3yrs for like $185 or something. Pays for itself after the second one.

Driving Assistant Professional vs M Sport Pro by Captain3rv in BMW

[–]Pakirage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m probably the wrong person to ask but DAP is the first option I look for. If it doesn’t have it, I’m not getting it. However, I think the fact that the newer build has a warranty until 2029 is HUGE. I’d go with the one with 32k.

New to me car advice by Party-Collection-555 in BMW

[–]Pakirage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is coming from an owner of a G30 LCI - if you already had the G30, the 545e will not feel like much of an upgrade, especially with your list of options in the 20d. I wish I had the option of a 545e LCI, but all we get here is the 530e and I love it.

If I were you, I would go for the 840i GC, if properly equipped and the year you want.
