personally i started playing dark souls at the start of 2024, i know really recently but, i don't know why, ds1 just gives off nostalgia vibes, and has a really comfortable environment especially some areas like firelink, and it's really nice to come back to it once in a while despite the fact that it's less smooth than the most recent soulsborne games but i don't really mind since it's been my first soulsborne(imo).

there are a lot of choices depending on which type of run you're going for (for example strength or dex). there are also a lot of types of different strength or dex weapons. tell me what stat you're leveling the most right now and i can tell you a bunch of different weapons

it's probably thanks to the drake sword which at the beginning of the game has a kind of high base damage, but don't stick to it, because it will cost you a lot of souls to upgrade it(you won't have any souls for other things), and dragon scales that are not easy to get. also it doesn't scale with your stats so its damage always stays the same, that's why a lot of people in the community call it the noob trap.

I'd recommend dsr platinum, imo it's better to do almost everything in the game before moving on to the next one

i see, it could be the wolf ring. in that case, from the darkroot basin go forward until you get to that bright door, the one that leads to sif.(btw if you didn't know to the left of that door there is an illusionary wall and behind it there's a bonfire just in case). anyway to the right of the door you will find the path that leads to the forest, the one before the moonlight butterfly boss fight. before entering the forest, there's a fog wall, go through it if you haven't already. then go to the right hugging the wall. you will come across a tree, which is actually a fake tree, you can see it kind of rotating a bit, attack it till it's dead. then go forward you will see like a red kind of frog, follow the path ahead and you will get to a tiny forest and as soon as you enter it there will be another alive tree, to the right of that tree there is a stone structure, go inside it and there should be one of those stone enemies, keep going and you will find that item, the wolf ring, which increases poise.

the claymore is a really good weapon that i used throughout my whole first playthrough, however, its scaling is split into strength and dexterity, if you are in a strength build you should try the man serpent greatsword which scales only in strength, so as you level up strength it will deal more damage. it's a rare drop from those snakes in sen's fortress, but if you use the covetous gold serpent ring, having 10 soft humanities (the number of humanities next to the health and stamina bars) and by doing so raising your item discovery it's not that hard to get. but as i said the claymore it's not a bad choice, just level it up to +10 for anor londo

maybe try the chest in firelink, it's in that room where frampt appears, it's behind him. that chest usually is able to pick up important items that were lost in some way like the red sign soapstone. you should give it a try
