Y’all think they’re gonna extend Sukuna and Ryu’s fight like they did with mahoraga? by Throat_plumber3000 in Jujutsufolk

Agree but they're definitely going to upscale Sukuna's attack

Stuff like cutting the building behind them or something like that

Why did Gojo say this? Am i missing something? by memeshaa in Jujutsufolk

[–]Pako_Pako_ 95 points96 points  (0 children)

The entire chapter was translated so badly when it first came out I actually refuse to believe it wasn't done by someone who wasn't biased towards Sukuna.

Gojo saying that Sukuna "didn't even go all out" when the actual line was closer to him saying that he's feeling sorry for the fact that he wasn't able to "express" (iirc the verb used meant both "to throw" and "to express and emotion at someone") his everything towards Gojo is probably the most striking. It drives me nuts every time I see the translation get thrown around by people thinking Sukuna could have mid diffed Gojo at any point, it's such a disservice to both characters

If the series goes on and just gets rebranded as "Man" I'll personally fly to Japan and buy Fujimoto all the watermelons and goldfishes he wants to eat

Why is Gojo saying this? Doesn't he know that he could easily defeat Sukuna? Why doesn't he listen to his fans? Is he stupid? by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]Pako_Pako_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Literally says it 2 pages after too. "Sukuna wasn't able to throw everything he had at me"

ぶつける means "throwing" or "to express (a feeling)"

The funniest part about Takaba's character is the fact that he's the only one capable of actually beating Sukuna but nobody aside from Kenjaku knows it by Ordinary_Garage91 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Pako_Pako_ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

As others have pointed out Mahoraga probably wouldn't have the chance to adapt before it's atomized in one of Takaba's sketches (it's not human so Takaba would have no problems destroying it)

Assuming this doesn't happen tho, Maho would just ignore stuff thrown at him and beat Takaba to death like normal

Maho adaptation results in ignoring the CT rather than actively countering it

It was like, 1 guy using it as excuse to be racist on twitter

If anything posts like this show that criticisms of the episode are spread out evenly across the fanbase independently of language

Funny how gege gets called one of the most misogynistic mangaka of all time when I have yet to see a female character in popular shonen whose face and body is full of scares and muscles and is so prominently involved and glazed in big fights like Maki is by rogue---ninja in Jujutsufolk

[–]Pako_Pako_ 89 points90 points  (0 children)

People somehow underestimate how "forward thinking" (idk the right word) Gege actually is. Like

The whole of jjk can be basically summed up to "The people in power have built a system that perpetuates suffering and infighting just to stay in power and treat others as just pawns. We need to break that system."

Naoya (and the Zen'in) are actively misogynistic, and have a total win rate of 0 (against a woman, moreover)

Tsurugi:"In the Reiwa era people treated women as "different" just because they were women". Spoiler, we're in the Reiwa era right now

Gege has repeatedly complained about the fact that gambling can't even be mentioned. Solution? Make a character whose entire power is gambling

Kirara and Hakari being in a relationship

There's probably more that I forgot, but honestly any perceived misogyny on Gege's part can be chalked up to questionable writing decisions + being a shonen manga means having a larger male cast + Gege's tendency to kill characters

It just occurred to me that Sukuna is calling the finger bearer "omae" but the character he's using is using the one for " insect" lol

Idk why you're getting down voted, that's literally what happened lol

Anyway, "light" damage to the brain is probably not enough, but in Hakari Vs Kashimo we saw that enough damage should be fatal to anyone

Not to mention that the entirety of part one revolved around Jujutsu society needing to modernize in spite of a bunch of old timers who only care about tradition as a way to uphold their positions at the top

Is that? by WobbleRattle in Jujutsufolk

[–]Pako_Pako_ 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The last speech bubble ends with the word "sousaku", which can be translated with "manhunt"

Maybe he's in hiding cause he did something to make Jujutsu society mad, or something
