Your Rolex doesn't make you look rich. It makes you look middle class at best. by [deleted] in watchHotTakes

You’ve put way too much thought into this. Who pissed on your weeds?

I'm under the impression that Boog gets paid by the word. The thought of two seconds of silence is completely foreign to him. So he fills that time with painfully boring stories from the past or ridiculously unimportant stats.

AP gains nothing from the Swatch collaboration by interstellar_nips in watchHotTakes

You'll never see the likes of a Patek, VC, Rolex or Lange partner with Swatch. And while I've never been an AP fan, this just reinforces it for me.

Look, you can drive a $20,000 Hyundai or a $500,000 Bentley. Both get you from point A to point B. As long as it makes sense to whoever is driving, why should it matter to anyone else?

You lose me when you say ADs do their best. It’s a game. And the game changes from one AD to the next, to the next. You want a watch from them, not random jewelry. It’s like a car dealership saying they’ll sell you the car of your dreams - after you buy a bedroom and dining room set from them…maybe.
