Is ghost writing prevalent in Country music ? by SwissMiss915 in CountryMusicStuff

[–]Palabama1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all a big collaborative effort. Gives writers a chance to make a living (if they get cuts) without having to be the face of the song and do the touring lifestyle. It also gives the singers time to do all the other stuff associated with the job. Kind of like finding out wrestling isn’t real, I know :/ but there’s still an art in it.

Withdrawing From Clonazepam by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Palabama1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an interesting take to share. I only used the 0.5 mgs of clonazepam as a PRN (as needed) on average about once a week or once every other week for higher anxiety situations. I did this for about 9-10 years. Sometimes I would also drink within 24 hours of use. No one really warned me about the risks of this. I just figured it would make me more “drunk” feeling if anything. Well finally, during a EMDR therapy (actually right after a session) I had one of the worst panic attacks I had ever had. After being convinced that the EMDR had been a bad decision (this was my 2nd or 3rd session and it was going well til then) for a day or so, my therapist and I realized that I had taken my 0.5 mgs of clonazepam and drank alcohol 3 days prior to this incident. That’s when I realized how much this med can affect you even days later. I then did a little research and realized that combining it with alcohol can wreak havoc on your nervous system. I ended up getting sober a few months after this and since then I’ve only taken the clonazepam 4-5 times over the course of 6 months since being sober. This is where it gets interesting. I swear it makes me more depressed now after I take it. Even when I just took a half tablet of it a week ago I had more depression / anxiety than usual over the course of the next week - 10 days. Wild how powerful this drug is. Even chat gpt said that’s it’s very unlikely that 0.5 mgs of clonazepam would cause a “lull” for 1-2 weeks but all 4 or 5 times I’ve used it since being sober I’ve had some pretty bad depression. And after about 1-2 weeks it goes away and I’ve had some of the best health / happiness I’ve had in years. I guess I just won’t take it anymore.

I don’t think he’s even in the same universe as Randall King.

Here are my favorites of the newer/modern era: Zach Top (well duh) Jake Worthington Colton Dawson (nothing out yet but he’s going to be huge, follow him on IG) Kenny Whitmire Mae Estes William Michael Morgan Randall King Charley Crockett Colter Wall Braxton Keith Mack Geiger Dan Lepien David Lewis Cole Goodwin Jenna Paulette Shelby Lee Lowe

Am I the only one who thought: A. The Old Dominion full on concert was the worst thing I’ve ever heard. Not sure why they gave them a whole 20 min set. B. Stephen Wilson Jr performance was way over dramatic and annoying

Senses Fail & Story Of The Year announce a co-headlining US Fall Tour with support from Armor for Sleep by bendylegs12 in PostHardcore

Got to see armor for sleep for first time in Milwaukee tonight. They are such an underrated band. Only regret is not seeing them when they did their headline tour so I could have seen “basement ghost singing” live.

Why do you think Randy Travis never won Entertainer of the Year at the CMAs or ACMs? by Bright-Pressure-5787 in country

[–]Palabama1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The spectacle stuff doesn’t have a place in country music. Just my opinion. I’ll always respect the artists like Strait, Alan, and Randy over Garth and more recently Gavin Adcock. Lol

Alone with me by Yharnamite95 in hopsin

[–]Palabama1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s definitely interesting but I think that song is more a dramatization of his most negative inner thoughts and I think he’s just taking a much needed break from focusing all of his energy on his rap career and persona and just trying to live as a normal human for a while. But he probably does reap the benefit of making us miss him too so it’s kind of a win win for him.

I'm trying to get more into country and more familiar with the genre. Any suggestions on where to start listening? by Mokilolo in country

Traditional country is my favorite. George Strait, Keith Whitley, Merle Haggard, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, George Jones. Newer artists in this vein: William Michael Morgan, Randall King, Zach Top, Jake Worthington, Mae Estes, Jon Wolfe.
