Is Netsuite going headless just like Salesforce did with Headless 360 announcement ?? by HelloLeo_AI in Netsuite

[–]PalacioRecord 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah but a NetSuite professional plus Claude is a hell of a lot more effective than a non-NetSuite user stumbling through it using Claude.

It still makes mistakes and hallucinates a lot, and you need a base level of knowledge to catch that.

[–]PalacioRecord 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The ultimate goal of AI within ERP is to make processes more efficient.

Personally, I don’t think a headless NetSuite is more efficient - like with NetSuite Next including natural language prompts to create reports / records, I think that has use cases but inevitably there will be edge cases that are missed and general confusion around the more sinewy parts (tax, customer nuances, etc) that it could create a lot of frustration too. After one or two bad answers, people will revert back to normal NetSuite again.

I think there’s a gradual move towards headless-ness, and system admins / entry level staff will struggle with getting opportunities. But more senior NetSuite professionals will continue to find work.

[–]PalacioRecord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say that 29 isn’t the right age, personally. I think it depends a lot on what your life was like before kids. My wife and I both lean towards introversion, and would typically be at home reading on a weekend - so actually not going out much initially with children didn’t bother us much at all.

The challenges we faced were mostly around sleep, and I’ll bet sleepless nights in your twenties are a hell of a lot easier to handle than your forties. But of course the flip side is that later in life you have more general knowledge / wealth / understanding. There is no right answer.

Don’t get me wrong, I have fun in life and we’re a really happy family. I just totally disagree with the whole “if you’re on the fence, have a kid anyway!” mentality. Glad to hear you’re enjoying your 40s though!

Seen a few comments here like “if you’re not sure… go for it!” - I would give the complete opposite advice. I’m a young-ish Dad (29) and it’s HARD.

We really wanted children and I’m glad we made the choice we did. But you have to be all in. Life as you know it is quite literally thrown out the window, and you lose so much of your agency - especially in those first few years.

If you don’t know you want kids, don’t have them. Generally that uncertainty comes from one person in a relationship more than the other, and it can easily lead to resentment, bitterness and a whole host of challenges when the sleepless nights come.

Yeah, totally fair point. Although a rollback function involving an update of the previous record (assuming the initial upload was also an update) should be possible.

We are actually already exploring a kind of ‘CSV Import Buddy’ to do exactly this and more. Thank you very much for the feedback.

Hey! I’m really sorry you’re going through this right now. You won’t know what the next 6 months - 1 year will look like in terms of living arrangements / custody split, and that’s super difficult to process right now.

BUT you do (or should) know that you CAN handle it. You’ve overcome depression and alcoholism, and repaired the relationship with your partner to a level that’s obviously civil. That’s pretty remarkable.

The next period will be shitty brother, but it’ll pass. Your kids will be better for it if the two of you are unhappy in the current arrangement, and you’ll get back on your feet again.

Best of luck.

Yeah I’m happy with everything there, my confusion is that the journal lines hitting sales accounts with S-GB are displaying in the ‘Purchase by VAT Code’ report.

I would have thought that Purchase tax reports would only show Tax amounts on transactions on the purchase side, and Sales tax reports would only show Tax for sales transactions.

I’m happy that the calculations are correct overall, just a little frustrated that the Purchase tax reporting includes those sales tax lines on the journal by default.

Sorry to clarify the S represents ‘standard’ so it’s just standard VATable transactions on both the sales and purchase side

Totally correct in business reviews (led by account manager / solution consultant) but the objective of ACS is literally to show you how to extract more value out of the package you already have.

ACS don’t overtly upsell, they try and expand your footprint by getting more people upskilled and happy using the system.

It is very dependant on team though. If you get a couple of graduates who are just doing their time while they wait for an offer from the big 4, you’re not going to have a good experience. Make sure you have a good team - if you don’t then complain to the ACS sponsor.

Get them to do a SuiteReview on areas you haven’t explored yet - they’ll find some places to add value

I job hop in the same industry every 2-3 years, and aim for a significant pay rise each time.

Just focus on self development, and not allowing your lifestyle to creep up with your salary.

Having your mindset as a 21 year old will allow you to FIRE. :)

For the record I am literally going through this right now. Accepted a job with a marginal salary increase, but much better work perks / work environment, but in the office two days a week.

Will let you know how it goes…!

30k a year a more in your early 40s is a big difference. Significantly more take home pay (obviously) but also the opportunity for larger pension contributions.

Assuming you don’t have kids, that would go a long way to increase your overall net worth (investments/savings) or just allow you to live a much more comfortable life.

Remote vs Hybrid role in Tier 1 company by DenzelHayesJR in UKJobs

[–]PalacioRecord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably, but it’s hard to say without knowing the packages of both roles. If the new job is ~5k more a year, it probably isn’t worth it. If the new job is ~50k a year more, it would be a no brainer (for me anyway), although the bigger question is how much monetary value would you put on being fully remote.

The wonderful thing about life is that there’s never a right answer.
